For the first time in almost 4 years, Yorick is free to play
Riot finally did it. No more champions being avoided in the F2P weeks.

Maybe he will finally get some work in future patches now, since he is a bit undertuned at high levels of play while being a bit too strong against a lot of people who do not realize all they have to do is walk away from him when he tags them with a skillshot. All his AI controlled units are generally just too slow to get any attacks off on enemies who do not stand and fight him, and if they get to far from him they disappear or get confused and stand around doing nothing (Maiden goes full retard).
I would wonder why they have not tuned these issues yet, but perhaps they just wanted more data, though I doubt it will vary much from what we have already seen since his rework. Of course, it is always possible that they will ignore him again for a few more years too. . . Who knows.
Riot is probably just analyzing Yorick & the data before they make any balance changes. Kled didn't recieve his 1st balance change until 3 patches after release. So Yorick isn't the 1st champ they decided to "wait & see" with before hitting them with the nerf bat or buff hammer.

Except that Yorick is not like Kled, they are in entirely different design spaces. There is less room for innovation and playstyle choices with a Juggernaut as opposed to a Diver like Kled, who happens to have tools for engage, sticking, and high damage with built in defense in his passive. Kled by design is easier to balance simply because his gameplay contains a formula that is easily reproduced from champion to champion.
Difficult to balance designs include supports, juggernauts, and melee carries, for various very different reasons.
Rito pls gimmie #

Thank you!! <3
Np man
isnt shaco removed from the rotation?
no.
isnt shaco removed from the rotation?
Sadly, no even though he should be as one of the most toxic champs in the game. Luckily getting reworked in not too long.
Nope. Shaclone said Rito is making minor changes if any.
Shaco has many weaknesses. He has great strengths too, but I don't think he's toxic.
He is boring to play anyways, at least to me. Any champion whose main part of their kit it AI or automatically controlled are boring. Lime heim, and now yoric. Thank god for riot on how the designed Azir
YORICK!!! YORICCCKKKK MORI
Yorick was FTP the week or two before his rework.
pretty sure this post is a straight up lie because i've seen him free to play. in the past few years
Pretty sure your memory is messing with you because Yorick have ALWAYS been banned from the F2P rotation since soon after his release.
Why?
Long story short: Yorick's old kit was toxic as fuck & Riot regrets releasing him as he was. So they removed from the F2P rotation to hide their regret.
Basically, he had no counters, and no way of fair play. Just spam your 4 ghoul moves and win.
Ah, ok. I thought there was a deeper reason. But he wasn't exactly freelo. Yes, he won his lane every time. But couldn't do much outside of it. Imagine that Teemo can poison you premanently but doesn't deal any other damage. Yes, facing him in lane would be a nightmare, but in a teamfight he and his team would be long dead before his poison would kill anyone. That's more or less how Yorick worked. Although his ult was pretty neat - he could double his ADC and give them Karthus' passive on top of that.
No, that was Urgot.
Ah, today is a good day. So dance, I COMMAND YOU ALL TO DANCE!
