he still has a point and click snare that causes him to be very oppressive but we still have some hope that the next rework will come where riot will actually change the 1 thing that was actually annoying about him.

seriously cant believe hes still this strong and still nothing has changed about his laning phase except now hes a fucking sonic character if he mashes his buttons after his point and click snare goes off.

imagine if he wasnt picked most of the games in LCS.

I mean, she has a much healthier game pattern than Ryze, people can just gapclose onto Cass and fuck her up, she doesn't have a shield, a point and click hard CC and a ridiculous speed boost.

I'm not saying cass is broken or anything but say I am playing ekko, I can jump on her try and burst her but the slow and her kiting will completely negate that. This would be assuming I haven't used my w or anything. The way she builds also makes her somewhat tanky and could potentially survive that burst assuming said attacker isn't fed to all hell.

The point and click snare is not the only problem. The whole "scale with mana" thing has been a major issue with every Ryze rework so far. Having a champion that can reliably go Tear>Catalyst and still be doing damage is frankly never going to work.

The new passive is a good direction, I think. While the spells retain mana scaling, they've been toned down, and now mana amplifies how much AP you get from the passive by a percentage amount. This means you first need AP to do damage, and mana to further increase that damage. Also, this means just stacking mana without building AP wouldn't do that much damage.

Now reality isn't exactly like this now, but we can push further and retain mana scaling mage identity and still make a healthy champion.

Unfortunately, that catagory includes everyone who goes Tear Catalyst. Namely, Ryze, Cass, and Swain. This is then justified by them being early game bullies, which makes no fucking sense because they're building scaling items instead of low cost items for better early spikes.

Cass is squishy and Swain is countered by Grevious Wounds, however, so they're considered fine. But it feels shit when someone with two scaling, non-offensive items still 100-0's you at level 6 (tear+catalyst)

Yeah? How come I've seen it happen?

It may have sounded like I was bursted, but that's not what I meant. What I meant is that he turned on R, hit his snare, walked with me, and I was dead once I'd finished my trade combo and started backing off. I was even ranged (although a bit countered, he got a pretty guaranteed snare if I wasn't careful).

As far as I am aware Katarina's identity consists of bayblade, teleports and resets. Those can work fine.

ryze solo q and competetive activity is identical to prework ryze. means nothing in the large picture has changed.

just wait few months and you will see a Rioter with a thread about how they didn't exactly "hit the mark" on his rework. he will probably get nerfed again very soon to shittyness. and then reworked during this year. i guarntee you

i've been naggin about Ryze for a long time but goldies who cant play him nag and say he is hard to use. Q E W E Q is such a hard and easy to outplay combo specially when ryze is already next to his tower with 600move speed before you get any decent dmg in. Better nerf Ashe.

Ryze Rework 3025:

Q - Hitting two in 5 seconds deals 100% Max HP True Damage W - Binds champ until their death E - Resets all abilities and grants Shield equal to 200% of Max HP R - Can now teleport any ally anywhere on the map

Passive : Ryze now gains 100 AP for every 2 Mana. Every kill grants Ryze 200 Mana

The snare was never what people hated about Ryze. It was the "faceroll to pentakill" that you got with him. While there was a learning curve, the recipe for success with him, was, Ult, then press buttons. That's what Riot wanted to change.

Not really I picked up all of his combos after the rework in a good 5 minutes. The only added skill he has now is positioning and timing his ultimate. His combat hasn't changed one bit he's fucking braindead and probably always will be.

ya for sure. asol is such a niche pick at least to me, in my current elo. but ya his ult is so hard to make oneself think they had a good one. i mean i know most the time it's a good knockback for your W to do it's thing and also as a disengage of some sorts. but i have to think, most of the time i've used him i wished that i could just last hit snipe with that ult and never seem to satisfy that xd
