@Riot Can we get some work done on Jayce?

He's not unplayable, but he's certainly not in as good of a spot as he could be. He has a very niche position on teams and that's nice, but the other champions are leaving him in the dust. He really is no doing as well as he once did against tanks since most of them are now built to survive 5v1 onslaughts during hard engages. He's too squishy to to jump back line targets as even mages now can easily put out enough raw DPS to pop him. He really, really needs some loving. I can't remember the last time he was Meta. He needs some time in the sun. And I may I point out you have done "reworks" on champions in far better standing. (Shen and Corki to name two)

I don't know how long you've been around, but Jayce is a very difficult to balance champion. Leaving him where he is would be best for everyone. What you're requesting is like asking for Nidalee buffs. That's how bizarre it sounds.

Nidalee are not that damn similar I wish people would stop comparing them. First Nid is a AP champion meaning she has a much higher burst potential right off. Second Nid has built in sustain, this makes her much more efficient at sieging. Third Nid has an unbound jump skill allowing her to have formidable mobility compared to Jayce's speed boost. Yes they both have a poke skill and both swap from Range to Melee but one has considerably better burst potential and reliable escape tools. If they unbound Jayce's Q then maybe I would be fine with people comparing them but the difference in mobility is way too much. Running faster is nothing compared to being able to hop walls.

Don't understand how you can compare Nidalee vs Jayce. Nidalee is an amazing jungler that puts way too much pressure. Nidalee had a more effective win rate in high ELO than Ekko and Zed did I'm pretty sure WHEN THEY WERE OP. Jayce is meant to be a laner and dueler.

@OP. Most players who knew Jayce since release knows what Jayce is like when he is strong. Trust me, no one wants that. Though I won't disagree that Jayce is in a weak place. He has an overloaded kit which means he will either be too strong or too weak in the meta that it is simply better to leave him where he is.

I more so meant that both are poke champions that are difficult to balance. Whenever Riot buffs Nidalee she always spirals out of control, Jayce to a lesser extent since AD caster itemization hasn't really been that great since season 3.

The crux of Jayce's problem is that he is a transformer. Riot hasn't done the best at doing well with transform champs, although in recent years they have improved significantly especially with Nid (recent balance problems aside).

He isn't on the high list because like you said he isn't unplayable,he doesn't have absurdly toxic/unhealthy mechanics(i.e. Ryze ) and recently some people have attempted a bruiser tank style build which makes him atleast bearable and not die in team fights in mere seconds

Just get item 3071 item 3053 on him and you won't be squishy.

Ugh, transformation champs. No thanks.

Mechanic reliant champion. That's a good enough reason to buff something according to Riot as they kept Zed and Lee OP for so long.

Jayce isn't bad he's actually pretty underrated imo. The main thing now is that Jayce isn't great against sustain champions and sustain is really strong right now. That's not really a problem with Jayce. Also should note the last two changes Jayce has received where both buffs. He hasn't been nerfed in nearly two full seasons.

He does fine against tanks, but they're still tanks. He's not a tank shredder, but with the right build and use of his Cannon Form passive, you can do some serious damage to them. If you're building him squishy enough so that he can't jump in to a fight and stay alive for more than 3 seconds, you aren't playing him right and you would never get out DPS-ed by a mage if you play him correctly.

You're comparing him to people with insane damage output at all points of the game and all the fun stuff that Season 6 has to offer, but in reality Jayce is one of the more balanced champions in terms of kill potential and takes a bit of skill to use.

** I suggest you take more time to play him because the points you brought up aren't relevant to anything other than personal skill and team composition. **

(Jayce player since early S5 with about 120k~ mastery points spread across 3 accounts. The points aren't too high but I'd say Jayce is my best champion.)
