CLEAR THE RAAAAAANKS! (so I can run away)

First off, it says "break their ranks"

Second off, that's garen's e, so what happens if you use that while running through minions?

You would not believe how fun that is in ARAM. Aim for between the nexus turrets, and go for the field goal.

NOTHING CAN STOP MEEEEEE !!!!!! bashes into a wall or a turret right after pressing a button and stops for a while to contemplate existance

Better variation: gets Anivia orTrundle walled to the face instantly after cast

Why should you play Sion? Because when your reach full build and are pushing into the enemy base, you can type into the all-chat, "HERE COMES THE PAIN TRAIN" and charge on in.

Am I the only one who enjoyed old Sion?

No, you aren't.

The gold ol' days...

Gaddafi1 votes

No my friend, he was my main and champ i enjoyed the most. He was one of most powerful duelists, one of most sexy melee fighters and unstoppable force once when he goes off his lane. Sure, he was easily stopped by strong CC but there were plenty of options to workaround that.

I miss him. A lot. I do play new Sion too, AP tank, Tank, Bruiser but... His passive is worst passive in history of this game and it's pretty useless i mean, it should make u punish those who get you down but instead, you get punished again for trying to catch up just to see your life fade out while enemies are laughing at you. Oh, old Sion days, Atma's days... RIP my dear love.

Try this item 3022

That would help but only if you are able to hit one AA, usually you just watch them escape and make fun of you with cc'ing your passive ghost. Not to mention that it's a waste of gold and item slot because Sion already have plenty of CC to lock enemies.

I just hate his passive :(

He doesn't have cc after he's dead without it :P

It gives nearly as much hp as warmogs while also having a little damage so his q's hurt.

When you (support Sion) engage, tank damage, and die in the midst of your enemies, your passive lets you run their dps threat out of the teamfight. That's pretty useful to me.

Gaddafi1 votes

After he is dead he doesn't have CC just a little speed boost. But while he is in 'alive state' he does have plenty of CC as i said :) When he is dead there should be rewarding passive, considering how strong it sounds, you should not use item slot just for passive because to die with Sion is not very smart move at all :) ( as if it could be in any way ).

Sure, it can be useful ( you have point there in situation you described ) but mostly it is not. Take Karthus for example ( alto they are totally different champs with different roles, but let's look at passive ), when you die you are actually also rewarded if you time it right and usually, decent Karthus will always secure multi kill with his passive.

I am not saying that Sion should be able to do the same but at least he should be more of a threat when he dies - considering all that Sion is / should be. It might be tough to balance any change but i would rather see passive boost on his ressistance or damage rather then this passive in this state.

Hyrum Graff1 votes

Generally agreed that top sion doesn't want to die and shouldn't itemize for it (I prefer maw of malmortius).

I've just taken a big liking to support sion recently, who still does hard engages but isn't tanky enough to survive, so making your passive super useful is the most important thing.

Really? I thought Cinderhulk Sion was mad OP since he scales so much faster.

What's the issue with it?

FirstSergeantBim4 votes

Riot's done a real number on our favorite Undead Juggernaut. Several patches of nerfs here and there to not just Sion, but items and masteries, have really reduced his presence tremendously. First off, Sion's passive Blood Furnace HP doesn't actually scale with Cinderhulk's %HP increase and it never did. Secondly, they nerfed his Q damage to monsters from 90% to 80% and nerfed his active Blood Furnace shield in ranks 1-4 (and reduced the re-activation time to 3 seconds) so that at rank one and at level one, his shield can't even last against one large monster attack. Finally the nerfs to his mana efficiency and his E damage was enough to seriously hurt his lane power. Obviously you can work around these nerfs and he's still a strong champion; he just requires someone to play him properly.

His biggest issue is that he doesn't have very much early game power and his jungle clears leave much to be desired. Which puts him between a rock and a hard place because of all these new-fangled Devourer junglers running around and with the new changes to armor itemization I fear he's going to be in a pretty sad place.

Cinderhulk doesn't scale with his passive health gain?

If that's the case I might just stick to laning with him then.

FirstSergeantBim1 votes

Nope, unfortunately it is counted as base HP despite being called "bonus health" in the ability tool-tip.

Your call, bro. Pick your poison. He's been fucked just as hard both in lane and the jungle.

I think the light at the end of the tunnel is the new Gameplay Update: Juggernauts will be rolling out soon and Sion is probably going to be one of the best (if not the best) champions to make use of the new items (even though they're targeted towards Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser and Skarner). Plus, since they're changing Cinderhulk to +400 HP/15% Bonus HP, it won't matter as much that Cinderhulk doesn't scale with his passive HP gain and it will help him scale into the late-game much better.

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

They could probably give him a small buff by making it so his w health DOES count for it, especially sense they're nerfing the hp scaling on cinderhulk.

Doctor Jarvis1 votes

That's not a small buff. In most games I get around 600-800 bonus health on that thing, and Im not even a great Sion player (I don't farm as much as I probably should). 15% of that is another 100 health, which may not feel like much but as you're scaling it up it's just so efficient.

NemeBro2 votes

{quoted} First off, Sion's passive Blood Furnace HP doesn't actually scale with Cinderhulk's %HP increase and it never did.

It does actually.

FirstSergeantBim1 votes

Prove it.

Darkwind1 votes

It's been done. I've tested it myself before, you gain significantly more total health than you gain from just your passive as you clear the jungle. Try it yourself, they DO stack.

On another note, Cinderhulk's tooltip won't update immediately, so you won't see that Cinderhulk is giving you more HP there; you'll only see it in your HP bar. If you buy/sell health items after killing monsters, it'll update properly.

Until the laning phase is over I exclusively save his Ult for escaping ganks. That and the quick melee-range stun if I get a gank of my own.
