"Runes Reforged" is the main reason why LCS is a complete borefest.

Lets be honest, folks. When a game is filled with excessive damage and RNG elements, LCS games are going to be boring to watch. Pro players are pressured to win games. The primary job for Pros is to win for their respective multi-million dollar organizations. They do not have the leisure to mess around and take risks. Just play safe throughout the entire game, siege towers, and defend their base due to overwhelming damage.

The upcoming changes to Baron and Elder Dragon may be great changes for LCS to finish faster, but it will lead to horrible problems to normal/solo players. Why? Because the current meta is heavily team oriented. In a social/solo queue scenario, If one person messes up, the entire team messes up and that can easily cause snowballing.

Here are the reasons why games are long for LCS and short for casual/solo players.

Long LCS games-

  • Overloaded Runes
  • Overpowered Runes
  • Excessive damage across the board.
  • RNG elements
  • Team oriented and a strong mental fortitude.

Short Casual/ Solo queue games

  • Overloaded Runes
  • Overpowered Runes
  • Excessive damage across the board.
  • RNG elements
  • Higher chance of isolated individuals with weak mental fortitude. (Surrender at 15 mentality)

I can guarantee everyone that nerfing the excessive damage from overloaded runes and removing unhealthy RNG elements from League can and will reduce the snowballing issue for casual/solo. This will also encourage pro players to step up and make plays since they will have opportunities to outplay their opponents. Trust me, folks. There's just too much damage across the board. Only adding buffs or protective shields to towers is just a band-aid solution to the real problem. The problem is damage.
