I already placed in my flex ranked, why do i have to do it over again? serious question, i dont keep up to date on this stuff.

ProtestantCaesar1 votesEvery year we have a new Ranked season. At the beginning of each Ranked season, your rank is usually lower than it was last Ranked season, but so is everyone else's. At the end of each Ranked season, you get rewards based on your rank.
Flex Queue was introduced a few patches ago, but we were still in the time between the end of Ranked Season 6 and the beginning of Ranked Season 7. You could do placements and get a basic rank, but when Ranked Season 7 began, yesterday, you would still need to do placements again to begin climbing for Season 7.
Season 7 began yesterday. That is why you had to do placements again.
EndlessSorcerer1 votesPreseason doesn't count and is just a testing ground.
Season 7 only officially started yesterday.
