Reporting for not supporting

I'm starting to get really sick of full AP mage "supports". In the past, it was incredibly annoying facing mage supports. They buy sightstone if you're lucky, and build like a midlaner the rest of the game. I was hoping that with the sightstone changes, this would change, since Frost Queen got removed. Unfortunately, it hasn't. I've had several games today with "supports" that only bought the minimal support items and built full AP, while I build typical support (i.e Locket, Redemption, etc). It just feels useless to have a player who is playing the support role but doesn't build support other than sightstone. You do nothing to support your team, so why even play support? Just go mid lane and play there. It isn't fun getting no farm because Brand or Zyra can harass without needing farm because of their support item, and then don't even build support. It isn't healthy for the game and has no early game counterplay. There should be an option to report players who go into the support role and don't play it at all. Just as anyone would report a jungler who doesn't jungle and tries to duo lane top, someone who builds full AP should be reported for not playing support. If you're not building support items, you're ignoring your duties as the designated support player. It's fine to get some AP, but it shouldn't be an early game full AP rush where the enemy team doesn't get set behind at all if you survive laning phase. If you disagree, please be respectful. Tell me why I'm wrong, don't just flame and name call because you disagree.

Hi there, I am a full support main playing @ high plat levels. Vision is critical, and should always be a priority, but other than that - I think your post shows some ignorance in how the support role can be played.

There are many supports that are pretty viable while building 'full ap', as you put it. And most of these champions can easily hit over a 50% winrate in good hands. Annie Brand Zyra Xerath Sona

It's really hard to define exactly what 'supporting' means... It essentially means helping your team win and helping your carry stay alive through the laning phase. This can be achieved through damage, as it is a strong deterrent to engage or harass. You can also outsustain your way to victory. There is also hard engage and strong frontline CC supports.

ALL of these are completely viable.

As an example, If i am able to keep the enemy ADC to 50% or less health as <insert AP focused support here>. Then the odds that they will engage in a 2v2 drop dramatically. If i can harass them out of lane, then you start getting a CS lead.

Another big point: You really should not judge others for the items they buy. There are no 'support' items other than the warding items, which the vast majority of supports purchase. You should really **judge them for how they perform. **
