A few suggestions to finally tick Morde off Riot's list

Riot's been taking baby steps with Mordekaiser's rework and he's finally nearing completion. They managed to make his Q pattern less gimped, his shield fills easier with his Siphon and his healing was reduced due to it apparently being onverbearing in conjunction with a shield mechanic.

Mordekaiser's close to being a champion Riot might be able to support long-term and there are only a few rough edges that can be polished rather easily to make everybody happy, so without further ado let's look at several ways to improve Mordekaiser and let him finally rest easy on his metal Throne;

Morde's base stats Mordekaiser is supposed to be a late game scaling Monster. His base stats seem to mirror this, having great scaling AD and low MS to make his early game weak but his base health is such a poor sight compared to every other juggernaut or late game champion especially for a HP-based caster like Juggernaut with no innate cc or mobility. I suggest upping his hp/level from 73 to 83ish, making him reach 1800+ at level 18

In comparison; Morde; 525--->1765

Old Mordekaiser; 525---> 1885 Yasuo; 518---->1912 Illaoi:586-------->2201 Darius:582------>2282 Kalista; 518---->1929

The old Mordekaiser also had more base MS, more AS and more armor all the while his shield had a 35% ratio instead of a 25% one. It did decay a lot slower as well.

Mordekaiser's W I get the reasoning at making it unavailable in solo lanes. Who would want to lane versus A Mordekaiser who'd always have his shield up AND had heals to his disposal?

Old Mordekaiser players do miss his old W so how about some craaazy changes?

Harvester of Sorrow-----> Creeping Death/Harvester of Sorrow

That's right. Instead of simply allowing Mordekaiser to get the DoT in solo lanes why not give him the option to access an entirely different skill on his own?

Creeping Death would function like his old W, giving him Amror/MR as well a a nice AoE damage cloud when self cast while using your W on an ally applies Harvester of Sorrow, the damage only being applied when the auras touch and the heal only being accessible in a duo lane scenario.

This would help Mordekaiser out Solo while giving him the option to beef himself up in duels while reducing the frustration from his lane sustain.

Still, credit due where it's due. Riot is doing great with Mordekaiser, slowly nudging him in the right direction but now's not the time to quit. The finish line's in sight and after one last push we'll finally be done with Mordekaiser for the time being! So keep up Riot, eye on the ball and don't quit.

I could easily agree to this!

wasn't his q nerfed. it was 1x-3x-9x now its 3x-3x-6x

They flattened the damage out over three auto attacks. The first two deal as much as the third, making him deal consistent damage and be less bursty/making it less infuriating not being able to land the last Q

I would agree to this change, but honestly I like playing morde as the bot lane carry right now anyways. especially with how popular AD midlaners have become, he and corki are very valuable in my opinion. I do miss the ability to run solo lanes and think this would fix it perfectly. however, I think that it might be better to have creeping death not have the aoe passive damage effect and instead have a bust of damage higher than harvester's steal, but healing for less. that way he still has a little bit of sustain without/before building gunblade or wota. unless you think those items are efficient on morde, in which case I will begin building them because you're one of the few people who's judgement I would trust on that matter.

The AoE damage cloud should help him in duels to keep his shield gen flowing passively, but I get your point^^

WoTa was good back in the day where Morde was more of a mage than a fighter. Nowadays I usually get a Gunblade after the nerfs to Trinity force. It's got a great build path Adds a medium/long range point and click slow to his kit beyond his ultimate with Rylais It's active's on a mere 30 second cool down and deals decent damage Morde can use both AD and AP effectively, the item boosting his damage substantially The healing making him really hard to kill, especially in conjunction with a Spirit Visage Sustain on a Juggernaut with an inbuilt shield mechanic is horrifying for the enemies since they have to chip away at his shield, health and overcome his sustain

So yeah, try it out some time, I think it's way too underrated on Mordekaiser and in the DEV blog on Morde riot even acknowledged it being a legitimately "core" option for Morde, which I wholeheartedly agree on, at least in solo lanes.

Rageblade is way too good to pass up on Morde. His Q gives him three stacks per auto for some reason, and the damage is calculated when he hits, so the third hit always hits with 8 stacks. It also gives him sick attack speed.

I nearly always build Rylai's then rageblade. Gunblade is a good item after that.

The Creeping Death/Harvesters of Sorrow combo idea is pretty cool. The only objection I have to it is that the tooltip for that ability might get a little too long with both on it.

Malicious Metal1 votes

Well, harvester's will certainly be longer than Creeping Death's XD

Creeping Death; Surrounds Mordekaiser in a cloud of Shrapnel for 6 seconds, increasing his Magic resistance and armor by 60 and dealing 80 magic damage per second.

Harvester of Sorrow; Casts an aura of necromantic energy on an ally champion and Mordekaiser himself. When they touch they deal 70 magic damage per second, gaining up to 75 Movement speed when moving towards each other. On Reactivation Mordekaiser and his Ally drain the area around them, stealing 190 health in magic damage from surrounding enemy units. Only a third effectiveness against minions, maximum of two units drained.

If I may say one thing:

Mode defeniatly needs a base health boost, but I feel it is so low because of the massive hp gain that Mordekaiser gets from Dragon ghost.

I say, for the sake of balance, nerf the hp gain on dragon ghost and buff Morde's base health. This will be a great trade off for early game in a solo lane.

And Malicious, great point on a solo AoE w for shield generation. I totally agree with this, but the heal should be kept on reactivate. With how slow Mord is, you can't always land it. As a result, even tho a MS boost would be nice, if he keeps his 325 movespeed perhaps he can have solo AoE damage AND reactivate heal.

That heal is sooooo important, or at least how I play Mord. A weaker AoE w would be great for a solo lane Mord when he solo casts. It would allow him to acually survive ganks a wee bit better.

On another note, Ive noticed that CDR and AS is great for having your shield up. With Nashor's, Guinsoo's, and Cleaver you have CDR, health, MS, AS, and stacking damage+more AS. Obviously never forget Rylia's for obvious reasons. ;))

Definitely* by the way.

And we can just remove the dragon ghost instead of keeping it around.

Mmmm idk, it's unique and useful to peel for my team and to take an objective.

ALTHOUGH

if they nerfed the amount of health you gain from drag ghost, it gives room to buff his BASE health stats. A good trade off, I think.

It's literally always shield, never die with AS and CDR (get items that give damage or health along with it)

May the gods of metal listen to you, my friend

I pretty much haven't had fun this patch seeing as I can't play Morde if I want to win

If they improved his synergy with masteries by fixing Runic Armor that would also help towards shifting him to the role they want him to be in... http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-report/xbKANNPi-runic-armor-still-doesnt-work-with-iron-man-but-windspeakers-blessing-does

Look at my match history.

I was doing solo top Mord, but I constantly get 3-4 man ganked because I time the heals, and get a few kills. The ganks cause me not to become fed and die a lot.

I have been doing adc Mord for awhile now(with a proper support of course) and my games are hard carries most of the time.

I go Nashor's, Rylia's, Guinsoo's, Swifty Alacrity/Distortion boots, Liandry's and either Cleaver or SV.

The AS is amazing for q. Guinsoos ups it even more and supercharges q to God Mode if Kept stacked. The 40% CDR allows ability spam. The health from liandry's, rylias, cleaver/SV, and scaling health yellows allow me to soak up damage and boost my shield.

THIS BUILD IS FINNY SHIT, TRY IT HUEHUEHUE!!!!!

2MS quints, 1ap quint, ap blues, scaling hp yellows, magic pen reds.

DFT keystone. Use cunning tree for gold income to get items faster.

Why not for W give the option if self cast, it sends out a wave of spike dealing immediate damage. Now mord can choose between more bursty damage and more sustain damage with a heal.

I see you are enforcing my initial Creeping Death/Harvester of Sorrow idea from the first rework days. Maybe Riot listens to you, good job. But dunno, I'm not feeling exited at all with Morde to the extend I just quit the game completely out of it. No amount of polish or tweaks will make me like this rework. I guess I gave them too much time to fix this mess that my interest has gone away completely ever since.

I don't see myself playing this game again unless they make proper rework/Sion level rework or he gets reverted back to 5.15 which I obviously doubt will ever happen.

I tend to lurk the forums to see if Morde is getting a better treatment but so far I'm not seeing any of it unfortunately. All I see is they are still forcing his new kit with minor tweaks when his base stats are still bad for a "Juggernaut" and especially for solo lane. And now with the recent Marksman update he seems to be out of the game.

I'm just pissed that this rework was forced upon us and we knew beforehand it was going to ruin the champion. Still they forced it regardless of our concerns because they knew best.
