Bring Ranked Play to Team Builder

Not happy with inability to make choices about team comps in draft mode. Team builder where I can say yes or no to game depending on if I like the comp is more fun for me plus I can choose champion I think fits the comp. Please add ranked mode to team builder. Don't care if same champ is on both teams. I think ranked is not fun as is. Someone makes stupid pick and you are forced to play the game. Never have that in team builder. But team builder doesn't mean anything because riot has not given it option to have ranked play. I like progression. Don't like draft mode. I have had nothing but good experiences in team builder and nothing but bad experience in ranked.

Can you give insight at all riot into if you plan on adding ranked to team builder?

I think the one issue with this is that queue times might be average, but dodge rates will be astronomical.

We already have this. its called Ranked 5v5 teams.

2 problems I see with ranked teambuilder

it splits up the community which leads to longer queue times
a big part of ranked is the pick/ban phase, where you get to deny certain champs to opponets and you have to opportunity to counter pick champs/pick against their comp, which is totally lost in team builder

While I do love the concept of team builder, not having the option to counterpick and ban champs is really off-putting.

Ranked is the way it is because it that is the way it is played in competitive. The idea of ranked is to have a competitive playlist just like in the LCS. So making it like teambuilder is probably the stupidest thing I have seen on this forum.

Here is my story for today so far. Played rank game. Second pick wanted to go top. Started off by typing "top, top, top, top, top!". First pick said, "Sorry, I am going to top." Second pick went on to pick Teemo into a first pick Ahri for the other team mid. Went on to give away 4 kills in first 10 minutes to the Ahri and the game snowballed from there as the Ahri and the jungle roamed other lanes. I had no option to say, "No" to this comp where teemo was mid. I had to play or I would lose points. This NEVER happens to me in teambuilder. I never have the frustration of playing in a comp I know is gonna be fail. In ranked I have no influence on the comp beyond my pick. I would like some feedback on this issue from a riot poster. Will you put in a ranked version of teambuilder?

There are different skills involved in team builder versus ranked draft at the time of champion select. It is no less skillful to be able to choose the comp you want to be a part of as a captain or a "joiner" than it is to sit and watch a teammate make a terrible choice in their lane or for their team as a whole. I think you could argue there is higher control in the team builder setting for a smart player to be in comps that work. You need to cater better to team builder players in ranked progression. I want to know your plans riot. I think the current ranked system is very frustrating and not fun. Makes me hate your game when it can be such a fun game to play.

With reference to Onegarion's post I think you give no credit to the fun of knowing you are playing the champ you want to play in a comp that supports that champ and synergizes well. I will take a blind situation where I know I have a workable comp any day over the 4th and 5th pick both going squishy when you have no tanks. How is that fun or better? If you were putting together an NBA team wouldn't it be interesting to try and pick 5 players that could win against the most other teams? This is want team builder is like. Draft mode ranked is like having 5 coaches all with their own personal idea of what players go together best. The timing of pick order makes synergizing difficult. Throw in that each player has a different role to play all the time and may have to fill a role in the majority of their games they don't even like. Seems to me the counterpoint for riot is we like ranked system because it forces people to have a larger champion pool and spend more money. I guess I understand that. But other truth about situation like this is if you make many of your players angry because ranked sucks you might lose money that way too. You give no legitimacy to team builder when you don't let in count as ranked form of play. Have a ranked and a normal team builder just like you have ranked and normal draft mode. I would sign up to play team builder over draft mode every time whether ranked or not because it is a way better system. I have more control over what I play and what comps I am in. In ranked draft I have no control over what I play or what comp I am in yet it gets all the accolades and chance for progression. I would like to know what plans are in this area? Not sure I want to keep investing and playing in this game if only progression is through a game mode I do not like.

Don't think 5v5 is option for most people. I don't even have 5 friends that play this game as a rule when I am on. I think there can be skill in coming up with comps in team builder too. Be blind situation so you have to have a theme and see if you planned well. That is better than my story for tonight which is Vayne who "promised" he would be good top. Locks in. Went 3/30. I could not dodge. I trusted and we all got burned. That sucks! Team builder is way better. I have no chance, however, to earn any rewards in team builder. That makes me mad when it is the better mode for me. I lose and I got a chance to say yes to my champ and my comp fine. I lose when 3/30 vayne was troll after all...not fine.

The current team builder implementation isn't workable for ranked. Main problems:

Ranked must include counterpicking
Ranked must include bans
Matchmaking quality of team builder at high elo is absolutely awful

Riot has confirmed that they are looking at something like team builder for ranked. Most likely it will be some flavor of queue by role, where you indicate that you'd prefer to mid, but you're also willing to top or jungle, and then you get assigned a team and role in that team.
