Riot, are more or less games ending in surrender now versus last season?

My experience is there are a lot more games surrendered right now. Does your data support this also, Riot? What is your opinion at Riot of people frequently requesting on the boards even lower surrender time like 10 or 15 min in? Is that ok with you as you manage the game or do you see that as symptomatic of game problems?

It's symptomatic of the fact that there are a lot of losers and children raised to quit. Nothing more and nothing less. They need to take the surrender button out of the game because it is being abused and bad players stay bad and never get better because they have that crutch to escape from the messes their shitty play creates.

As someone who absolutely HATES surrendering... even I give in to the (yes, more frequent) surrender votes most of the time.

Before preseason, I felt like there was always a chance to turn the game around, or at least learn something. Now there simply is no coming back no matter how hard you try. The warding power was reduced WAY too much - the defending team will always be at a disadvantage because they have no means to adequately control their side of the map. You just can't turtle anymore.

I'm with Dragfin. The surrender button needs removed. It's a constant source of toxicity (raging because of no surrender and, as stated before, people looking for an easy way out of their mistakes) as well as creates a very bad game environment, imo. I've had NUMEROUS games surrendered when we still had a huge chance to win, especially because someone kept making plays/catching people out/etc. but no one realized that the enemy is slipping up more often than us.

TL;DR: surrender button bad. remove pl0x.

And are surrender games counted differently for statistics?

I think the point of OPs comment is that a higher surrender rate implies a less balanced game. If the game was more balanced now we would see less surrenders as players would see less hopeless situations. The problem is some champions literally can't be reasonably stopped after getting just a couple kills. Most players would agree this preseason patch has been hell for a lot of us and the next patch isn't doing anything to fix it.

I started from the top of original post with "my experience" big guy or girl, whatever you may be. Pretty basic logic. I can try and prove to you philosophically that the sun will definitely come up tomorrow but it is surprisingly hard when you realize causality is not allowed status as automatic a priori knowledge. I suppose you can hope my common sense assessment is wrong. The sun coming up tomorrow and my localized perception being spot on both pretty good betting odds. I have played a few thousand games on all my accounts. What you got beside devil's advocate hat? Why don't you surrender this argument like all your games?

Wow, what a flame war. Calm your damn hormones you whiners.

On topic, I do think Riot needs to change something. Defenders have very limited options and the pacing of games is way too fast. They need to either change the current warding system, minion pushing or buff the towers (because they are durable as cheese slices.)
