Riot is notorious for lying to its player base. In recent patches, they claimed that they want to improve the game by adding more diversity to it. It's "diversity" this and "diversity" that. It's gotten to the point that players have turned it into a joke that Riot can't plan two steps ahead without using the word, "diversity". But it has become increasingly obvious that they seem not to understand what diversity really means.
If players really should be allowed options then why does Riot insist on implementing changes to the game regardless of player consent.
Because they don't want the player base to be able to pick and choose what should be changed, what should be kept, what should be removed. To them, we're just test dummies subjected to one unwanted addition to the game after another. We amount to nothing more than test animals. Once Riot's done with one experiment, it's removed to make room for a new one. Riot even stated the following in their announcement.
"Thanks to everyone who gave us feedback along the way to this launch, from the original beta to the recent PBE testing. We're excited to take this next step into the League's future, and we can't wait to join you in new champ select."
If Team Builder remained then Riot runs the risk of not having enough people use the new champ select and not acquiring the data they require for proceeding with whatever it is they have planned next.
It is apparent that to Riot League of Legends is wholly theirs to do with however they please. But they fail to take into consideration that this game that is going on 6+ years is supported and operated by players, many of whom have supported Riot financially. The players are what makes the game a success. It is their time, attention, participation, and support that makes it good or bad. The game was not made by us, but if it was made for us then why does Riot insist on going against the desires of the players, their customers? Why does Riot continue to lie to us? And when Riot realizes they made a mistake, why is a simple "We're sorry" so difficult?
