Turning 1v2's into 2v2's post 6.

Another person in that boat is Mordekaiser , only it's more like "Turning 1v2's into 2v1's"

It really depends on the enemy's skill. If they're bad enough to stand next to eachother against Brand ult, it could be pretty easy.

If they're smart enough to wait out Fiora's Parry before ccing you and don't let you hit vitals, it could be pretty hard.

Fiora Darius Garen Jax Vayne Shyvana MonkeyKing Trundle Skarner Rammus Nasus MasterYi Irelia Heimerdinger Fizz Cassiopeia Akali Ekko Sion

Some more reliable than others, but these are the heavy hitters when it comes to holding their own in a 1v2 (or 1v5 in some cases)

+Riven and almost any other champion when played right. Minus bard.

I'd disagree with Sion. What usually ends up is they just dash around you really annoyingly. Of course if you land your CC on both at the same time you can feed them to your carries but he doens't do too well.

All I know is I've 1v4'd with him using Gromp Poison Armor, Thornmail, and Cinderhulk and there was a Leblanc and Fizz attacking me didn't help them LOL

this was before all the nerfs tho

I'd say Brand is a good contender in here, his ult vs 2 is devastating and his stun can stop a person long enough for one to die

Any marksman as well, depending on the two enemies.

I feel like it depends on the champions the 2 pick, how much CC they have, how much damage they have, etc.

Also, define "late game"... Nasus or Veigar could make short work of some champions, quickly turning it into a 1v1.

You mean like only 1 vs. 2 people in the entire map?

There's plenty of champions like that because balance and the game being balanced around 5 man teams blowing up a Nexus, not 1~2 man teams.

Team fight potential is largely due to Range, CC, AoE. With a solid formation of a 5-man team, the range on someone like Varus or Ziggs is a huge deal: just closing the gap can mean taking 25% of your max HP: from 5 different opponents all at once. CC is also of substantial use in a 5-man team, as stunning someone for 1 second, even with Renekton/Taric casting-animations that essentially disable yourself in the process, allow for a collective 4 seconds your team can capitalize on that stun. And AoE is obviously better vs. 5 targets than 1.

With only 1 opponent: stunning them for 1 second isn't much of an advantage (especially with the casting animations on most CC skills). Having range when you can only drop ~25% of your foe's max HP on the journey to you also isn't fantastic. And AoE is generally lacking (though still useful for CSing and controling minions).

Of further interest: in a 1v1 or 2v2, counter-building (or resilience to being counter-built) is a pretty big deal. Defensive itemization is balanced around the idea you're going to need to split resources between dealing with physical, magical, auto-attack, and ability damage threats.

Furthermore: Resets are 100% useless in a 1v1, but extreemly powerful in the 2v2~3v3 zone of fights.

Darius Khazix Jax Tryndamere Fizz Taric

Are among the strongest picks for these purposes. Most fighters and assassins will be solid choices outside of these: but it is worth looking over what I've written above over carrying SR meta-performance into the calculation.

Some solid Fighters in Rift like Yasou and Irelia are pretty ~meh when it comes to maps like Dominion or Treelines, as most of their meta-sustaining properties have to do with being solid in several situations and not ultimate in 1 particular situation. This is why champions that are frankly terrible in Rift like Tryndamere and champions hardly seen like Taric are in the list.

Nasus Jax MasterYi are pretty good at that. Reliably? It depends how good your opponents are tbh. If they have a peeling botlane with good mechanical players, on something like Vayne + Braum , good luck... Poppy 's ultimate does make her immune to one player but poppy isn't as stupidly strong lategame as she's told to be, and she is easily countered by true damage/ some people just outduel her.
