SS Change excitement!

Sightstone upgrades will be part of the changes. Intent is to still keep those in a position where they're generally more appealing on supports than other classes though.

I'm really excited about changes to SS. I wish we could know more about their aims for the item though, especially with trinkets being so powerful once players hit level 9. Are they aiming for more flexibility with the base SS item or just replacing Ruby SS upgrade with something more meaningful? Maybe some other aim for SS altogether? Thoughts?

So long as most of the changes are aimed at making squishy supports viable again then sure.

I agree, having to buy a tank stat base item just to get wards is limited and probably has a lot to do with why tank supports are so dominant atm.

I get the reason, to gives supports a bit of safety when warding but it brings the mindset of "This gives me tank stats, might as well play a tank to make use of it"

Honestly (And though I don't want to say to copy them but) they should do what DOTA 2 does and have 3 different variants of the item (In DOTA2 there's a pair of boots which you can switch between the 3 major stats giving aboost to those stas, 1 sightstone can give AP (Mystic sightstone) 1 giving HP (normal sighstone) and 1 giving utility (MS and CDR maybe?) sure it would kill the spelltheif and coin line but doing the match the relic line is better anyway (relic matches coin and beats spelltheif in gold, can tie with coin for sustain and has the better active (Tank supports have engage))

Or at least give Sightstones a recharging mechanism. It's dumb that I have to recall every 3-5 minutes if I want to keep wards up.

That was something that always bugged me, because the free trinkets do that but something we have to put 800gs on does not.

I love item 2049 . Its one of my favorite items, i get it every time i play support or when i go jungle because the freedom to roam of a jungler allows for great ward placements and i hope the changes make it much better to upgrade.

Indeed, item 2049 is my favorite item as well. I main support and secondary top though. I keep trying jungle but I'm just so terrible at counter-jungling.

Now watch, the new item 2049 and item 2045 will be op af. And still the mid lane "supports" will not use them.

Though I bet they'll make one version of item 2049 to benefit LeeSin , and I will cry.

Vision was already OP but I am not too worried about it becoming a core item for top or mid. A lot of the value goes into the wards the item provides which is why you don't see top lane tanks building item 2049 item 2045 . It is still a nagging worry in the back of my mind but I still don't think it will happen.

I really hope they mean the core change to sightstone

If it's still the same item 2049 built out of HP but has slightly different "Ruby" variants Then nothing will change

It would be nice to see variations of item 2049 instead of just options for in place of item 2045 . However, I can think of a few ways they could do it. For instance, what if you could combine item 3098 + for something different from item 3092 ?
