Are old FOTM strategies effective?

For example, if I picked Tristana bot with Ignite, would you know how to handle that, would you even know what I'd be trying to do? As an enemy, would you know what to expect? As an allied support, who would you pick?

Couple things I don't understand about bot lane as of now

  1. adc's taking heal
  2. supports taking ignite/exhaust

Adc is the one who know's when he's gonna go aggro, he should take the exhaust. on the other hand, there should be no questioning why supports should take heal and why they shouldn't take ignite. I'm sure you see where I'm coming from. It's 100% backwards, but hey follow the meta right?

adc take heal because they can use it faster in clutch situations. Imagine your support having heal and you have ignite or exhaust. You expect to get burst down by the enemy but your support doesn't realize it so fast. You can react use a clutch heal where you support would either use it too late or not react at all.

Also you're the one to decide when exactly to heal. Heal gives a movementspeed buff too so if you're chasing someone and need that extra speed for a second, you can use heal.
