Suggestion to help Rammus in the jungle

I main Rammus in the jungle, and like a lot of people, I've been struggling with him in the new jungle. The main problem I have is that in the first few clears, I take so much damage from jungle monsters that I feel less confident about ganking in the early levels than in Season 4, because my health is often at about half. Basically, I find that Rammus needs more sustain. My simple solution to this problem that would also fit with his theme is to make his Defensive Ball Curl add an additional damage reduction against neutral monsters. For example, make it reduce damage from neutral monsters by 5 (or maybe 3/4/5/6/7 based on how it's leveled). That will reduce the damage that Rammus takes in the jungle, allowing him to gank more while also not affecting the relative balance between Rammus and other enemy champions during team fights.

He's not that bad in the jungle. You may need to rework your masteries and runes(focus on attack speed). However like most junglers currently he doesn't put that much early pressure

Look, I have 500+ games as Rammus. I know how he works and how to do my masteries and runes. I've also experimented with various camp starts to maximize my effectiveness. He's "OK" in the jungle right now in the sense that I don't mind his jungle clear speed at all. The problem is the amount of damage that he now takes from the jungle, making it much more difficult than bruiser style junglers to take time out to gank lanes in between clearing jungle camps. Right now, until he builds some significant armor, he takes a pounding from jungle mobs, making it so that one has to gank while significantly hurt -- which can be dangerous. I'm just looking for a little more sustain on Rammus or the ability to block more damage from neutral monsters.
