A thought: should Ad be weaker than AP in PVP?

SIR! STEP AWAY FROM THE DOWNVOTE BUTTON! hear me out. Ad champs by their nature have better sustained damage than ap champions in general, meaning they are better at taking objectives. AP champions in general can't split push as well as ad champions, because while they can wave clear just fine, once they reach the turret, it takes them way longer to actual destroy them than their ad counterparts. Ad as a stat offers more versatility than ap in terms of applying map pressure. As this is the case, perhaps ad champions in general should be specialized around this. Make them more about objective control than pvp. Otherwise, why would you take an ap champ over an ad one? What do you think?

I do agree. I thought riots philosophy was that burst should be able to do more than sustained damage in a shorter amount of time. However, all ADCs and AA carries do all their damage faster than any burst (unless you are viegar but it's situational) damage and then is able to go to the next target unhindered by CD.

AD applies more versatility than AP right now because of the itemization. There are much more items that give AD and other stats than give AP, leading to more and cheaper items for AD champs than for AP champs. Just wait till the Mage Update, I'm sure that there will be lots of new items for mages, and they will become much more versatile again.

well one thing that a lot of people seem to forget is that ap champs usually come with a lot of utility, whether its cc, shields, or whatever

out of 29 mages that are played mid, all but 8 have hard CC, and those eight tend to have other things like roots, heals, and shields
