sona's ult needs to be changed

Why on earth does one of the squishiest champs in the game have a close range Aoe stun for an ult? And what's more, why does:

Syndra have an aoe ability with the same stun duration except longer ranged, potentially larger, and as a basic ability with ~45 seconds less cooldown? Amummu have an objectively better Sona ult? Leona have an ult which, while stunning in a smaller area, also slows in a larger area, is longer ranged, and melds well with her q and e, both of which stun (I think, e might just root). "better sona", or Nami as she is commonly called, have as ult which while not stunning, knocks enemies up and slows them, and is a huge Aoe which can be launched all the way from the back line while sona has to flash into the enemy team.

The point I am making is that her ult is extremely lackluster compared to other champs. You can't have just an Aoe stun and call it engaging and unique. Adding the aesthetic of enemies dancing is just that. Aesthetic.

Is the ability iconic to her kit? Yes. Is it a good ability or match her kit in the slightest? No. When she is reworked, this really needs to be changed.

You make a very valid point. Another thing that doesn't make sense: why are all 3 basic abilities melee-range despite being the squishiest champion?

Pretty much nothing about Sona's kit makes sense anymore and with these new masteries making other supports like Morg, Nami, Bard and Morg even stronger, the Sona problem has become exponentially worse than before.

Because it has majestic projectile speed and damage,and also long stun. Don't expect this to be nami's ult,because each have a different purpose

The difference is that Leona, Amumu, etc. are front line brawlers that jump into the middle of the fight. Sona is a poke champ, she pokes from a mid range and positions herself in the middle of YOUR team, whereas Leona and Amumu sit in the middle of the ENEMY team. You have the ability to buff and assist your team and then with your ult keep the enemy Leona from engaging onto your squishies via your ult.

It's nothing to complain about. They fixed her mana cost on her ult and this was probably one of the greatest moments for any sona player, cause it's now much earlier accessable and does not cost like 200 mana at rank 1 lol.

Syndras stun is harder to do than Sonas, Cause she has to hit enemies with her spheres, and trust me, thats not as easy as it looks like. Mumu and Leo are both meele ranged and pretty much need that extra range imo, though it'd be great if her ult would go out as a cone instead of a rectangle, just like a little QOL buff, nothing special, she's balanced since the new masteries hit live servers, has a strong poke or mediocore sustain and that's what the most literally wished for.

Eh, the way you're probably supposed to play, W max is actually really good if you get a little mana regen. I don't like doing it myself though, q max yaaay. Anyway, as for the ult, my biggest gripe is that it has such a long cd when she's kinda vulnerable without it. Most other common supports can save themselves without an ult, Sona not so much.
