Death's Dance, Gunblade and Will of the Ancients are SO strong, yet they are ignored

These items are incredible. They have an amazing WinRatio on all the websites, the few times I see them in a game the person using them becomes SO HARD to kill.

People seem to be underapreciating these items. Try them. Seriously, they are amazing.

You think Illaoi, Riven and Gangplank were annoying? Wait for one with item 3812 to recover 30% of their HP every 2 seconds.

Jax, Yi and Teemo so strong and horrible to face alone? God forbid you see one with item 3146

Open your mind, give them a try. <3

No they're not. They're typically snowball items however. A sustain based build is inefficient against burst damage so suboptimal in a teamfight unless you have absolute crazy damage/ synergy with the item or are very safe (which is why you'll see Jax item 3146 ; ADC's with lifesteal etc.) but it's not that great if you aren't snowballing. It synergizes well with resistances as well, since lifesteal is after all effective health regained. If you ARE snowballing, the item becomes incredible because you become even more oppressive. You can allow yourself bad trades because you'll just lifesteal it off without a problem since your opponent is not able to zone you from cs'ing (more the other way around, really).

item 3812 is an anti-burst item, if it makes you live long enough to heal off the damage it did not delay.

item 3812 is an anti-burst item, if it makes you live long enough to heal off the damage it did not delay.

Which makes it good on backline champions that want to lifesteal off a bit to mitigate poke/ thornmail damage and are susceptible to getting bursted. Which is a niche filled by already some pretty good items item 3072 item 3139 item 3156, even item 3053 come to mind.

However, it doesn't make it good on bruisers/frontline such as Illaoi because a bunch of lifesteal and damage delay won't make you tanky in a teamfight, unless if you're horrendously fed.

I mean, if you're lifestealing through a teamfight, you HAVE to be fed.

1v1 is of course another story, and highly depends on who you face.

Gunblade is not nearly as good on Yi as the items he needs. Also not good on Teemo.

It actually is rather good however its used as a late game item on AP Yi.

And who plays AP Yi?? No one.

Xicashina1 votes

Ap Yi or Hybrid Yi is perfectly viable at a pretty similar level to As Yi right now. You can check out higher level yi players if you want to check

can you explain why?

Go ahead, try them. Teemo becomes much more threatening with a Gunblade due to a much increased kite and chase potential. Not mentioning healing 15% of ALL damage done.

Yi can use either Death's Dance or Gunblade, both increase survival but Gunblade gives improved chase potential

Cause you go Devourer -> Bork and then full tank on Yi, if you want another damage item it is gonna be Rageblade. Gunblade doesn't do much for him, he doesn't need the active, the 80 AP is useless for Yi, the only time you are gonna get it is when you already have Guinsoo because those 2 synergyze extremely well. Thing is you definitely need Devourer and Bork and you cannot afford to go 4 offensive items on Yi anymore.

Well, technically people build most often devourer into rageblade nowadays and skip Bork ever since Bork got nerfed, and that's the build the best Yi players use in the good majority of their games, but otherwise you're totally correct.

It's good on both of them. Read what the items do and then think about synergy with the champ kits. Been watching a Challenger Teemo on twitch build Gunblade this patch and wreck faces.

Not saying they're must buy 100% of games, but they work well with the champs and are good situational buys. You know, like all items.

Not sure on Will of the Ancients, but the others are hidden OP's. I actually know this from a past experience, and God was it horrifying.

Secretlolz1 votes

Yes, so few people use them but when you see one... the horror. The first time I learned Death's Dance was OP was a game where as Illaoi the enemy jungler fed me 2 kills so I was snowballing the lane, and decided to take a "Troll" item as first item. Holy, flying, baby spaghetti shit. Having +3 tentacles out would make 1v3 a breeze. It was SO ridiculous, It felt like cheating.
