What do then? He's being spammed in Diamond as recently. It's becoming a "Pls ban Fizz" on every single champion select.
Positioning and peel. Hes an assassin, like any other. Your ADC needs to not be out of position, you need the map warded, and you need to peel for your ADC. His gapclosers are the same abilities he uses to deal damage, and if he cant and his ult on the ADC, and gets peeled when he Es in, he wont have the damage to burst the ADC and will need to leave.
fizz is just a dumb champ, you can destroy him in lane but once he gets enough cdr he just steamrolls no matter. you can have a decent player on him and he is strong. It really is annoying when a fed fizz can 2 shot anyone and doesnt take outplay.
What did you expect? It's fizz's nature to escape last second, people like to take advantage of that sweet old E. Especially with an Ult that is 100/85/70, Zhonya's can be really useful.
One thing that works against him is DoTs and tethers, since they still apply to him while he's up on his pole.
It's not exactly great, especially since it depends on what champion you are playing, but it's at least something.
fizz's base stats in later levels need a big nerf imo. he's too slippery and he gets a lot of tankyness from ap items. i think he should be killable by one damage dealer
Actually he can be easily countered with Graves. Graves heals so much and his burst is insane, he is a nightmare for any assassin.

Maokai was working decently well for me. Fizz can still E out of Twisted advanced before it hits and makes the ability go on cd but when it does hit the Fizz it buys you a lot of time to dps him. The problem here is that you as Maokai don't have that dps. Vi's R works the same way so it really hurts when you cast it on Fizz and he does E putting your ult on cd... fml.
As OP said ban the fish still the best option.
Use DOTS,DOTS pierce through his E invincibility apart from that nothing else
Not much you can do.Just try to cc chain him and burst him down before his E or zhonyas.

You ban Irelia and Fizz, there's really no point in even playing the game with them in it, it's just not fun in the least
That's why they're nerfing him next patch. Until then just be patient and keep banning him.
It all depends which champ u're playing. Yes he can be shut down, it's not easy but is way easier than with LeBlanc or Kha
