Misfits vs. SKT should be mandatory watching for anyone who complains about the meta.

#OBVIOUS SPOILERS TO FOLLOW:

Worlds is on a patch before Ardent got nerfed. Ardent is king. Everyone complaining that it has no counter. Teams build it all the time and Janna/Lulu are the first pick queens. Misfits, god bless them, are against SKT. So what do you do against a 3 time world championship team?

You say fuck it and break the meta.

Taking Karma mid/Ivern jungle so you can still get ardent while running hyper-aggro bot laners to smash them and extend leads. You focus on smashing their team before they can even get ardent so they can't make use of it. Players picked champions which (gasp) countered enemy comps, NOT just what was meta!

SKT placed down a board and said "we're gonna play some league of legends fresh from Korea." Misfits kicked the board and said "FUCK YOU MY DUDE EVER HEAR OF EUPHORIA!?". By the last game, there wasn't a single Ardent on either team.

Did misfits lose in the end? Yeah, but it's not because of their picks but their macro and poor calls. Misfits showed that gods can bleed by breaking the meta and stabbing SKT with the broken shards of it. Are you on their level? Probably not. I'm certainly not, but let's be clear that this series is a masterclass in showing that sometimes, meta isn't king and even the most "OP" stuff can be countered when you put in the elbow grease.

So they broke the absurd Censer meta by building Censer. Let me guess. Both Karma and Ivern built it, didn't they?

What's even more entertaining is that Janna and Lulu were banned or locked in by SKT.

Of course, they're going to find the next best Champion that can use a Shield.

I as a European really wanted Misfits to go on and take SKT down, I will be honest , did not expect SKT to be dragged out to 5 games, but i noticed something in Misfits that we kinda miss in allot of other big teams.

Since Misfits is kinda new, they have less than a year together if I am not mistaken, I noticed that they kinda had fun , there were clips Riot show of in game personal camera where you could hear them sing or joke and the fact they played what they wanted and were comfortable with also was a delight to watch. SKT are great don't get me wrong, but they are just robots, plain, they lost that rookie passion and no one can blame them since they got what 2-3? world championships under their belt.

I really enjoyed watching team come together from challenger, tweak it here and there and go down challenging SKT while also enjoying themselves, this is what league is supposed to be about. And indeed SKT acted like champs, loved Huni's interview where he truly did show Misfists the respect they have earned:)

Matches like these, keep the hope alive.

Let's be really fucking real for a second. They lost because they let SKT pick Trist in the last two games. That's honestly what it really came down to.

Well, except game 5 both teams had ardent censer bound to a character. MSF just tried to do it in a more creative way which is more than enjoyable. I really liked all the matches after game1.

The only game that didn't have censer was game 5. Misfits said "we will play ardent champs in other lanes or the jungle because it's broken but will still run kill lanes". This just points that the censer is extremely broken. The last game all the ardent champs were banned.
