Your meta is toxic. This is why matchmaking is awful.
I'm sorry, but a 55%+ winrate? An extreme banrate? An extreme playrate? Master Yi being viable in Plat+ despite being a 'pubstomper' supposedly?
Your meta consisting of Mordekaiser, Darius, Fiora Top; Ekko, Olaf Jungle; Caitlyn, Miss Fortune, Senna ADC; Blitzcrank Support? Have you noticed that these champions are uninteractive and more dependent upon the person playing them than the opponent outplaying them? Have you noticed that they all involve making the opponent as useless as possible and that maybe such a meta is terrible for a competitive MOBA?
You guys -- the ones at Riot -- have really gone off the deep end. What used to be a strategic game has become more about the champions you pick & play, not how you play them. Counterplay has been replaced with "who makes the first mistake?" which leads to incredibly RNG matches where, it turns out, your ADC goes AFK and dies to Lux+Cait a few times and suddenly you can't even lane anymore against their poke. Less skill, more RNG because it turns out being locked into playing three champions of the 148 there are? Yeah. Not too interesting or fun, and certainly not representative of your skill.
Fix your game, or that 20% loss cited for 2018 (a metric ton of players, btw) [sic] will be a lot worse.
I know that the purpose of all of these events & free shit is just to keep people around, and it's doing a fine job... for now. You can't give stuff away in perpetuity infinitely, though, because eventually there will be nothing left to give. Turns out, the one solution is what we've all wanted: you to fix your game.
