I love Nexus Siege, but I think waiting over 20 minutes is a bit too long.

Hello, when Nexus Siege first arrived, me and my brother fell in love with the game mode. We spammed the hell out of it and we actually won almost every game because premades are OP.

However, the dark side of the coin is that since the second weekend Nexus Siege was on, our queue times have been tremendously long. Right now we're sitting at 23 minutes and still didn't find a game. I remember having similar queue times on the second weekend of Nexus Siege which is why I kind of stopped playing the game mode altogether.

Is there a way to make queue times shorter? I'm thinking about trolling a few games in a row to lower my MMR. Seriously.

@riot, could you maybe relax the matchmaking so it doesn't look for too narrow MMR differences?

Que times are long because the game is long and boring AF. I understand some people like it but most do not. RIOT needs to get their numbers though.

Most of the people I know indeed don't like the game mode. I think this game mode is appealing to a small percentage of the players, but those that do like it really love it. It's a fast paced strategy game where team coordination seems to be super important. This is my favourite game mode to actually see pro teams playing as I'm sure they could invent incredibly suprising tactics. It's probably not material for a tournament mode as an uncounterable strategy is likely to exist and the meta would become stale instantly, but streaming a skirmish for fun between 2 pro teams would really be awesome.

I think the problem with the gamemode is that most people don't understand it. They don't know how to play it and find it bullshit when they lose without understanding why. I've seen so many people walking from one lane to another while going B and tping back in is way faster + you get to shop during the tp. The gamemode is all about tempo and pressure while people probably expect to see more relaxed modes as 'fun modes'.

I understand it fine. It's just long and boring. It is not fast paced. I don't understand where that comes from. Strategic, yes, fast paced, no.

It's fast paced because you need to move constantly on the map. The tactic is to group up as attack and push a turret down with 3-4 siege weapons while 1 person holds the other lanes, constantly backing as soon as you have 100 shards or w/e it's called to buy a new siege weapon and as defence you need to keep an eye on the minimap at all times and B to defend what is necessary. After B you must immediately tp to lane and purchase your items + siege weapons during that time which can be challenging at times if you haven't decided your build from beforehand. It's like urf where every second wasted is twice as important as in regular games.

You play 2 games in a row each of which last around 12 minutes. Only if someone is afk it'll be boring because the game will stretch out if the afk is on the atking team.

To each their own. I played about 20 games the first weekend it was out and it was boring AF and lasted forever. I have not played it since and have no interest in ever playing it again.

If it lasts forever, then you're doing something wrong. As Attack, I've never had a game that lasted more than 15 minutes.

Show me your match history. You played no Siege on this account. Basically you are a liar.

Did you read my post? I can't play Nexus siege on this account because after 30 minutes I still didn't find a game. I had found one game and I decided to troll to lower my MMR, but even then I still didn't find another game. MY W/L was 19/4. Note that Nexus siege has already been on for 2 weekends before and the MMR is kept Also note that for some reason you can't see Nexus Siege games from other people that aren't your friends ingame.

This is a screenshot of matchistory on my smurf. Ignore the 6 normals in the middle.

Edit: Okay, I lied. The evelynn game lasted 15.50 as attack. IIRC I was defense first and it lasted 20 minutes so I didn't really try that game.

This is your post. Yes I read it. No I did not read your other posts because this is the post you responded with. IDGAF what you say, the mode is boring AF for the reasons that I listed. Why would you believe that you could change my mind with your posts? Are you that egotistical? I am going to guess yes and I don't really need to bother with a useless person who only cares about themselves and will never look at the big picture. Have a nice day.

You replied to my original post so I assumed you would have read that, or the other ones you replied to.

You said that no one plays the gamemode because it's boring as fuck. But you don't know what the game mode is about so of course it's boring for you. I played minecraft for 30 minutes and I found it incredibly boring because I didn't understand the purpose or how to make stuff.

I think the main reason no one plays is because it's rather difficult to figure out how it works. It's not like hexakill or or OFA where you do the same stuff but with a few adapted rules. Nexus Siege is a completely new mode with a different objective. The lack of model players showing how it works combined with it being boring to players who don't play it competitively (I think that's what you mean) makes it unpopular. Can you agree with this statement?

I wasn't trying to convince you to play this gamemode, just arguing about why it's not popular / boring to most people. I think that the reasons you listed are tied to "not playing the mode competitively" which is why I was disagreeing with you at first because we play the gamemode from different perspectives.

Edit: And the original purpose for this topic was to ask to relax the MMR restrictions to find quicker games at higher MMR.

Assume what you want. I understand the mode as I previously said. It's a failed attempt by RIOT to recreate Strands of the Ancients in WoW. Blizzard did a helluva lot better to make the game interesting and exciting. RIOT did not. Nexus Siege is boring AF. Stop assuming you know something about someone who probably has been gaming before your parents even met.

Odd, I've had no problems with Q time in Nexus siege.

Then again, I've always logged in during peek hours. If you were trying to Q up now, that could lead to a long Q time regardless of game mode.

I'm from EUW, it was at the peak hour when I made the thread. Managed to play 1 game so far today, currently playing troll melee champs to lower my winrate and hopefully I can get faster games again. Still, it was hard to not win. I had to stop defending my turrets in the last 4 minutes or they had no chance. They ended up winning 10 secs before the end.
