At This Point...(Feedback about Balancing currently)

The balance team needs to either fix and improve their approach to balancing, or just let this game become worse and worse of a hell. I get you guys couldn't afford to do any major balance changes in the second half of the split due to Midseason's atrocious outcome, but even with that the work has been very shotty at times. Graves was left being the top dog for several patches along with Jhin and Kai Sa. And that's not even the tip of the iceberg of balancing issues. Let me say this before we get far in: This is a opinion of the issues of the game currently and how it feels to play, not to hate on the balance team like certain posts do. I want both sides (Playerbase and Balance Team) to be able to bridge the gap caused by loss of trust.

When Riven gets Death's Dance, Black Cleaver, and a Ghostblade she's able to just healtank tons of damage due to the power of Dance's healing power on top of her 100% bonus AD ratio shield which makes her hard to kill if 30% of oncoming damage is being allocated to a bleed she can easily heal with one Q. Aatrox's balance since the rework release has been the most questionable thing i've ever witnessed, with solutions that are super simple yet being completely ignored, leading him ever so closer back to a balancing nightmare state the rework was intended to avoid (the only reason why he's good in pro is the fact teamplay there is able to cover his massive weakness). Jax is allowed to gouge your eyeballs out once he gets Triforce and if you are unable to shut him down past that, he's just gonna crush you like a twig, fed or not. And lets not forget the tons of % Health damage in the game. Like dear god, almost every class has at least a handful of champs that do some type of % hp damage (including tanks, which the damage was made to have tanks be able to fight other tanks without it being a wet noodle fight). You wonder why tanks other than Sion are rarely played in top, yet you don't consider Conqueror or the mass amount of % health damage as any sort of point to the issue.

It hurts as a person who likes playing the game to have every bit of effort being put in, be worth absolutely nothing due to shotty balancing. I can't even do anything with Maokai anymore despite being really good at him. Damage is at the point defenses are like pieces of paper with the word "Defense" scribbled on it and shipped off like its complete. Might as well rename tanks as "Fonts of Health".

Here's how you fix this stuff:

  1. Buff what is weak and nerf what is strong, REGARDLESS if they are picked in pro or not.
  2. Stop buffing or nerfing champions like Riven around a "maining" concept. The difference might be high, but she's being picked more by general players instead of solely mains (which explains her almost 50% winrate from Gold and above). Yes, this applies to Yasuo as well (figure people would take this entire thing as hating riven. Both champs have issues.) If main's are having an issue with performance, then buff the skill part of the kits, and not the general thing.
  3. Have pros be allowed to give feedback on some changes that would affect pro play.
  4. Lower damage in general and start removing or lowering some questionable damages. Like, in what world does Fiora need so much max health true damage, Sion having a shield that does max hp damage instead of flat magic, and Cho's E doing a ton of % max health damage too? Lets not forget Conqueror as well, since its starting to become more and more of a balancing issue. I could go on but it would be dragging on too long.
  5. (Do or dont, this one might be a good point or not) Re-evaluate every class and subclass' strengths and weaknesses and try to balance around those aspects. (Like although ADs should beat tanks, they shouldn't be killing them like paper. Same applies to tanks, shouldn't be unkillable but shouldn't be blown apart despite having high defenses)

(No TL;DR this time, every ounce of words was needed to convey this.

I mostly agree.

Graves was left being the top dog for several patches along with Jhin and Kai Sa.

This part inparticular, which yes I hate them all wont ever change. Usually bot lane has 2 or 3 op champs jungle always has 1 or 2 oppressive champs, and then support has a class like wardens, enchanters, mages that rotate. I am not exactly sure how they can fix this issue with out some massive overhauls. Look at like Kogmaw, Varus, Kai'sa. They all build the same items so if they nerf Kai'sa will varus just replace her? So on and so forth.

Issue about botlane is that its a small champ pool compared to the rest of the other roles. Even if they nerf Kai Sa, then nerf Varus, then Kog, at some point Kai Sa will reach the top again despite being hit with nerfs. Midseason was to fix that issue, but they went about the wrong way to do it. They need to make melee users somewhat viable back then like they were in S1 (Before S1 Worlds, which nerfed melee users in botlane, in return beginning the marksmen bot concept for the rest of the seasons onward).
