Sucks...

I have learned so much so far playing LoL. I remember back in the day (a couple months ago) when i would get rekt because i wanted to just burst enemy champs down and would fail, or when i would lose lane to a champ without even knowing that its because that champ countered me very hard...

I have learned to keep my cool, to not be so toxic, to try and help the team and focus on objectives. I have learned to look up my counters and their abilities prior to the match so that i am aware of what they do and to play safe/aggro when its needed (for the most part). I have improved so well.

Every now and then i lose matches and its all my fault, i make mistakes etc.. A few days ago i played a ranked game with someone who told me something very interesting and im guessing he was a higher rank on a smurf acc or something; he said, while we were late game and losing by a little, "you guys do not deserve to win" in team chat. i read it and didnt take any offence, i was playing supp blitz and was doing about 3/10/17 or so (cant remember for sure). i was curious and asked em "so what can i do better?" and he replied with "stop dying pointless deaths" (or something along those lines. This was the first time i really thought about how much of an impact it really has on the overall gameplay even if im support and im doing 3/10/17 i should be doing better i shouldnt be dying so much.

About 2 weeks later i have been really trying to play well and also not die "pointless", or "reckless" deaths. It has helped me improve and im a better LoL player for it. However, it seems like the more i try, the more i learn and the harder i try, the more i put into the matches the more i get dissapointed in the end when i ultimately end up losing anyway. Now yes i still make some mistakes, but it seems that i am always lucky enough to get someone on my team who isnt a good player and feeds, or lucky enough to play against people i know for a fact are not even close to being in my rank. I just started playing ranked this season, i have played 30-40ranked matches and won about 14 of them. Provisions left me at bronze 1 after winning 4/10 matches. Thats not so bad, but my problem is i shoulda won 6/10 if it werent because my teams were so bad.

I just got demoted recently to bronze 2. I went as high as 75 LP and then on a losing streak of 4 and down to 0. I see no end to the try hard only to then die hard... seems so pointless to play ranked when deep down i feel like ima lose anyway, either someone on my team will be really bad or the other team with have very strong champions or they will simply be way too skilled to even be on our rank playing with us.

If only there was something i could do, i mean i'm already trying to improve myself in League but i am only 1 of 5 and the odds are against me most of my games. There seems to be nothing else i can do, hence the title "sucks...", because it really does. I just wanted to vent because im so upset i got demoted because my adc went like 3/16 and my jg chose a yi and didn't gank till like 10 mins in and my mid wanted to chase. Im lucky i did 5/5/5 even though i was playing top jax vs a pant (hard jax counter). Just feels so unfair. If i had a 50% win rate id be happy but its like 30-40% because i am so unlucky...

Maybe some of you will look at this (and congrats if you read the whole thing <3 ily) and think, nah you just bad you need to get betetr and carry the whole team every game. But God damn... thats all i have to say...

So two things: 1: Props for trying to improve, it seems like you're willing to learn and take advice. Thats probably the best thing you can do to get better. However 2: I'm sorry, but if you're losing enough games to get demoted, then you're either at or below the average skill level of your league. I understand that occasionally you'll get matched with teammates who do poorly, or enemies who seem to be out of your league, but they shouldnt be frequent enough to get demoted.

If you're serious about learning and getting better, I'd advise practicing in normals, hold of on ranked. Get more experience on your mains and learn their more common matchups without looking it up. Play as some of the most popular picks so you can know what they're capable of firsthand. In the meantime, learn about theorycrafting teams, so you dont have to deal with the enemy getting "really op champs" and you can communicate with your team in champ select and have an overarching gameplan that's more than "win lane, win game".

Good luck in your climb.

Like i said, i was at 75 LP one time and then lost 4 in a row and dropped to 0. then won one then ost one etc. till i ended up getting demoted. I even lose matches in aram, in regular normals, etc.. usually what happens is that i win lane and the team is doing good early but then late game we get rekt. I'm assuming that is because we dont cover enough objectives late game but i do try my best. Honestly in my opinion im not less skilled than a bronze 1, and i dont think i was demoted for that reason.

I really hate the idea of "Just carry your team" because unless you are 2 leagues higher you won't do it and you can't do it. If you are only a silver player you can't carry bronze players because there isn't a huge difference between them. Now a gold player should be able to carry a bronze match.

What you need to do is get over yourself. Sounds harsh, but its true. Many people start to blame their team for losing a lot of games. Even if its true until you run a perfect game you can't say anything. You can say you aren't great, but when you think you are better than your team/enemy you put yourself in a bad position. This is how I reached plat last season from B1. When you start doing better yourself you start to influence everything. Now ofc you won't win every time which you seem to understand. I'm a support main so I have to deal with focusing on myself every game since there is always someone with me and we as a team control the bot lane. There are things that I can do that my adc can't and those are the only things that I can control. If I focus on landing hooks, bubbles, my mana, and trading I can control more than most. I can't force them to be passive or aggressive. I can only expect what they show me.

The next thing is objectives. You've probably heard this but objectives win not kills. Free towers are better than chasing kills. Try to learn what to do and when and make sure you ping. I can't tell you the number of times I've called a jungler to dragon because I see theirs top and we just crushed their bot lane (killed or forced to back). They don't always listen, but when they realize whats going on they usually listen (this is gold tho) and come.

Lastly I'd set goals. Things like X amount of CS by 10 mins (I use to do 100 cs by 15 minutes when I was in bronze), no more than X number of deaths (mine was 5), and any other stat you have control over (Kills is terrible here). Even doing something like always have river warded is a great goal as a laner. A jungler can make sure to keep timers without using the scoreboard. If you focus on the little things you will slowly increase important aspects of the game. CS is always important, If you focus on not dying as much you avoid pointless deaths and positioning, warding is always good even as an ADC and knowing timers will help you with game sense. All these goals have a basic mechanic or knowledge that they build off of to help you improve.

These are just 3 things that I know will help you regardless of your role or champs you play. I hope it helps you improve and it might take some time, but its possible. As I said I went from B1 to Plat last season so its possible to excel, but you have to focus on yourself and not what you can't control.

Yea this is basically the idea that you should just keep focusing on getting better etc.. Its like telling a man whom just lost his wife, kids, job etc. to not give up on life. If you lose avg 65% of your matches it is hard to not get upset about it, especially when you try so hard to do well.

Here's a video to set a guideline on one way to improve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlD7ph041e8 You might like it especially as you play Jax top with ignite.

Ive seen a lot of Gay99's vids and some. Ive learned a lot from them too.

Cool! maybe you can remember which one he explained teleport in? Especially on a late-game carry champ like Jax, the extra kill potential that Ignite gives isn't as useful as the global pressure and dragon control of tp. Maybe I'm confusing another youtuber.

No idea, but it makes perfect sense, i only picked up jax today lol. Played em like 4 or 5 times. I usually do a lot of research on champs, but lately ive just been experimenting with champs so i can more easily counter and know how some champs work first hand. Thanks for the advice though ill be sure to try tp next time i play jax, i can already think of a time where tp woulda helped put pressure on enemy team while i played jax.
