My opinion of how to jungle
Starting buff first
-
This will allow you to counter the enemy jungler from invading you if you're playing a weaker jungler Champ. example of enemy jungler you shouldn't try to duel unless they fuck up their jungle clearing and took more damage than they needed

-
This will also give you a small chance to take 3 buff if you manage to start on the opposite side of the enemy jungler Red side: the enemy jungler will usually take all their bot side camp before rotating to their next buff ( same for blue side)
-
May also give you the chance to take FB if you manage to sneak up on the jungler while they're doing their next buff Because in Bronze-Gold elo, the jungler never ward the bush around them when doing their buff, because they think that the other jungler prolly just farming on the other side of the map
Start jungle on the opposite side of the enemy jungler
-
Usually the jungle will move almost at the same pace depending on their jungle clear, meaning the jungler will both move toward the same side on the map. If you started red on the blue side and the enemy start on blue buff on the red side, you'll both eventually end up top side together. (at this point maybe both top lane already took some trade and about half hp or so) if you happen to move faster, you might open up the first gank or you can set up a counter gank
-
However, if you started on the opposite side of the enemy. You'll prolly be able to gank the lane that the enemy jungler not closest to which is bot lane. This might allow you to 3v2 the enemy (Numbers always win, or the enemy is
) unless you got outplay than suck for you
If any of you watch LCS you'll prolly know this already. The part where both team do nothing for the first 5-10min or so just trading turret and sending their top lane to take the turret with their bot lane. Both top laner arrive almost or the exact same time doing the same crap while the jungle farm on the safe side where his other 3 member are
Showing lane presence
- Even if you failed to gank the lane, you show your presence which can make the enemy laner play more passively allowing your laner to farm if they are harass in lane
- Or you can just walk right into lane and share exp. with your laner which they will get mad, because they don't understand your just showing yourself so they can get a couple of cs (so if you as a jungler is getting mad and making fun of your laner cs differences, it prolly because you didn't help or do what you needed to)
Jungle smite
- Trackers? Remember you're playing SoloQ, not LCS Unless you planned to just afk farm and ignore your laner, then prolly good to go for that
- Blue smite? If you don't believe in your skill shot this might help for the slow. Also help with chasing/running if you're playing someone like Udyr
- Red smite? You have confident in your skill shot, and go for the damage
The Rift
- Some might not know, but this crap give 5 STACK for Sated if the enemy jungler is playing a Champ that going for a Sated they might take advantage of it (if you're going Sated as well you might want to take control of it and ward it) And get your top laner ahead or whatsoever so they can help you.............................................................................
