plat is known garbage lol. plat isnt an actual league. its a gate between gold players and actual diamond players.

if you're stuck in plat, you deserve to be there and are probably an actual gold player.

ive seen gold 5s play better than most of the plat 5s on my team.

Silver is actually elo heaven.

It's probably hard to believe, but the higher you go, the worse it gets. If you really think silver 1 is bad (its one of the best elos actually), you haven't seen ANYTHING yet.

if someone has more than 100games in plat he is usually bad and deserves to be there. any GOOD player doesnt need more than 70games to climb out of plat and get into diamond ( not talking about smurfs since smurfs can get into diamond with 50games ) Even i can get into diamond from unranked in around 80 games and i truly consider myself trash compared to any of the players i look up to.

what? lol. the difference between gold players and plat players is pretty big. the fact that most of the boosted players are in plat doesn't mean that if you're plat that means you're garbage. that's a trash mentality

if you're stuck in plat you deserve to be there and are probably an actual gold player? what the actual fuck xD. if you're plat you're plat. if you're gold you're gold. if you're stuck in plat that doesn't mean you deserve to be gold.

Educated players know that Plat is ~top10% of Ranked players and Diamond ~top1%. So Plat Players are Definitely Not Garbage (tm) and Diamond are 10 times better than Plat.

Diamond is actually 2% (and has been up to 2.5% at times), and plat is 10% (and has been ~8% at times), so there is not nearly as much difference between diamond and plat as you are suggesting (diamond is not 10x more exclusive).

I agree that neither diamond or plat players are garbage though.

most plat players end up in diamond at some point in the season unless they stay around low plat for awhile. I've heard there's a huge gap between plat 3 and plat 2, 1 and diamond

Riot stated there's 100 million players, if I'm not entirely mistaken. Not everyone plays ranked though, so even if we make a very conservative guess and say that 10% play ranked that's 10 million ranked players.

I think you misunderstood what my point was: How many of these people are 12 year old kids? How many just play an occasional game here and there? How many are arrogant trash who completely refuse to improve and blame everything on their team?

Being better than trash doesn't necessarily make you good.

It is frustrating when you are playing with someone who is not as good as you which is why they call them trash. Not just in mechanics, but in game sense and decision making as well. I call plat players trash but its only because sometimes I get frustrated at their decisions such as staying under turret with 300 hp to grab a few minions. Then they get tower dove, die, lose that minion wave and the next one.

At the end of the day though I dont really care about mistakes people make in my games because I know that chances are they wont make the same mistake twice and as you go up the ladder you will see that players on average are less douche (on AVERAGE).

I dont call them trash on game, just in my head.

bronze players do it cuz they have no idea what they're doing. Plat players do it cuz they think "hey im plat, i must be pretty good, if he dives me I can outplay him ezpz" and then they get doved on and die.

As you go up the ladder, the amount of trolls and toxicity rises exponentially. You are GUARANTEED to get trolled at any given day or time you queue up in Diamond. Every single day you play you will get trolled. People will int, feed, etc. and nothing is done.

I'm getting sick of this kind of thinking. Can we just objectively decide that Silver is average, Gold means above average, Plat means you are high elo, and Diamond+ means you are elite? To call players a single tier below you "garbage" is just fucking childish. It is entirely possible that they are actually better than you, they are just getting bad matchmaking rng.

This statement obviously excludes boosters. They actually are garbage, regardless of rank.

Statistically speaking you are right: silver elo is the average elo where I think most of the community resides in, that makes bronze the sub-average elo and everything else is above-average/high elo, but to be fair if I as an high gold would be asked to rate a silver player, I would rate him as garbage because he's less skilled than me (now there can be exceptions, but I'm talking in general only basing in on the percieved level of each rank) it's not because I hate silver players it's just how these things work a silver player will rate bronze as garbage, an bronze players will rate bronze that are udner them in the ladder as garbage the same way a high platinum player will probably see me as garbage since I'm less skilled than he is (even if, by being gold 1 I'm in the upper 30% of the community skill wise, which means that at least 70% of the community is considered less skilled than me and statistically no one can say I'm "garbage" simply because by being better than 70% of the community I'm better than more than half of the community, probably even more than a quarter of it since I'm in the highest rank of gold and gold is considered the top 30%, which means that statistically I'm well above-average), and a pro will probably see everyone (often even other pros) as garbage, don't be fooled by those who sweet talk saing "he's good, he trains a lot, he's passionate, etc" if they think they are better than the guy, that guys is garbage in theyr eyes, they say that because they understand how these thing work and because they acnowledge the effot that other guy puts in it or maybe just to save face, but in the end, they see him as garbage.

Take doublelift as an example, you know what he answered during an interwiev when asked about when and if he will return to pro play in summer (for those who don't know doublelift is taking a break during the next split, and will come back to pro play at the start of summer split)? "I will almost surely return and I don't think that in one split of solo q my skills will deteriorate to the point where I'm not the best anymore so I'm not worried about having to fight for my spot back in the team" (well his words weren't exactly those obviously, but the point doesn't change) what does that mean? That he thinks every other NA adc is pretty much garbage compared to him, and since he is the unit he uses to measure others and he thinks of himself as the best, everyone in NA is garbage compared to him when it comes to the adc role. He also said "I don't remember a time in NA when I wasn't either the best or tied for top spot as an adc" which further proves how much he thinks others just aren't on his same level.

It's just natural to think about peole less skilled than you as bad since for you the only real standard is your skill level even when you have other people around you since you can't perfectly gauge the skill level of others, you will always have to give some margin of error which is not good when you need a measure unit, it has to be perfectly defined and in your case you know exactly what you can and can't do so you use your own skill level as the unit to gauge other people's skills, which means your skill level is 1 (no matter how much you rate yourself, were you to rate yourself as a 10, that would just mean thath you unit has a value of 10, so whaterer has less value than 10 will be less than a unit, so less than 1), which means everyone who's not as good if not better than you, has a lesser skill level than 1 which in turn means they are sub-average, which makes them garbage in your eyes.

I can obviously understand that, as a gold, I don't see diamonds or platinums bad, they are better than me so they must be good else, if I accept them as garbage, I am also accepting my own skill level to be even worse than that garbage that is better than me so I'm even worse than rock bottom level, which I'm pretty sure no one can really accept, right?.

So tl;dr we define garbage those who are less skilled than us, since to compare skill level we use our own skill level as the average level (even the ones who claim themselves as "the best" do that, it's just the only unit we can define perfectly with no error in this case), so those we find worse than us are garbage since they are not even able to reach the average level in our eyes, those around the same level are average and those who are on higher level are better than us.

I answered your post because, when answering, it was one of the only posts that made sense and that seemed worth responding to (since you actuallt make a fine point), so don't take it badly since it's not meant to be offensive in any way. This is only natural if you are a complete dick. If someone is trying their hardest and still remains in silver, even though I'm plat I would never call that player garbage. That is just fucking insulting, and anyone who feels the need to talk like this is clearly compensating from a massive inferiority complex. Now, there is something to be said for that guy that is bronze/silver and tells people he belongs in gold/plat but his teams suck and matchmaking sucks and all that shit. THAT is the only time the word "garbage" should be used to describe a player's skill, and mostly because people like that are assholes and I really don't care about their feelings.

As for your comment regarding DoubleLift, I believe it is more likely that he believes that he will be shown loyalty rather than he believes all other players suck. He also probably has a certain confidence in his skills such that he feels that he just won't deteriorate. You are looking waaaay too much into that quote, no respectable player would make a public comment with the intent to infer that his/her competition is "garbage" or anything of the sort.
