A thought on Kassadin

I'm not saying he's OP/UP. I'm saying that, I always see this guy getting nerfed because his mobility is too overwhelming or buffed because after the nerf he became pretty bad. I swear I can't remember ONE patch where Kassa didn't get touched, and this is all because his 2 sec CD blink. A champion that gets always nerfed/buffed in every patch makes me think of a really bad designed champion. So I was thinking, why are they not fully reworking him? Why don't they just move his R into his W and make him a passive-active ability, with a brand new R? It would be like

Passive : Every autoattack, Kassadin stores energy from the void, reducing by x seconds the active effect. If he continues to autoattack with Rift Walk ready to be casted, he stores a Rift Walk charge. Max 3 charge ( so he can keep his mobility for a team fight while having to fight for it by AA )

Active : Kassadin blinks in a target location, dealing AoE damage. ( add cc maybe? )

R - No idea (really.)

I'm not a good designer and this is probably a bad Kassadin rework, but it's just an idea of how it would be like. What do you guys think? Is he a bad designed champion? If yes, how could you make him balanced?

Imo, just make it like akali's charges, but with a longer charge time.

He already had a mini rework, I think they're still looking for ways of tuning his kit to make his playstyle healthy since he is a unique champion in the game and has a lot to offer

already had a post about it some days ago:

asfor the recent changes(PBE): Kassadin

Riftwalk ( R ) Mana Cost increased to 100 from 75 at all levels Riftwalk ( R ) Subsequent Riftwalk cost and damage multiplier period increased to 20 seconds from 12

Maybe it´s time for you to finally admit that your so called "rework" hadn´t been a rework at all. You did not shift his patterns in the slightest. It´s still Step in (from out of sight/reach)) - have instant effect (dmg/slow) - wadle away or continue to kill >depending on the Situation.

So for a rework to actually have an effect and keep his Ult as his trademark the follow things are required:

  • change his Abilities so he actually has to stay in melee-range to be effective...if he just steps at you and goes away the next second he should not be able to >harm you much with that. e.g.:
  • w should be actuall dps like Teemo and Kayle, not Burst.
  • q have a mechanic similar to Vayne and only procc dmg+silence after 3-4 continued attacks
  • e should scale with the number of targets hit, so it still is a powerful slow in teamfights, but not so much a free pick whenever a target is slightly out of position
  • the AS-steroid on his passive should be brought back in, the dmg-recuce maybe a tad bit lowered
  • The Silence has to be brought back in, it´s as much of his Identity as his Ult (he even jokes about it)..for a pattern that allows counterplay look above
  • His Ult should have a rather high CD if he doesn´t Step into a Champion, so he´s mobile in fights - but not abusivly mobile on the map

Would keep his identity(ult) absolutely intact without repeating the same issues of his gameplay over and over again.
