Is it best to just give up on climbing?

I was dropped to S5 this season for the 7th time yesterday, is it pointless to continue trying at this point?

Stop slamming your face at soloqueue, and find your mistakes. Fill in pitfalls, for example I saw that my early and late game were fine. Yet around the mid game my csing/warding plummeted. I was essentially doing nothing

I decided to stop at G5 because to me it is the best rank

  • looks good on your profile
  • little effort
  • end of season rewards
  • no decay

Keep trying, but be more objective about your own play. Find people that'll punish you for you. Focus less on your chimp allies and focus more on improving you.

No, I'm not saying this because I'm being some cheesy ass dude that says "You're the reason you're not climbing". I mean, that's true, but it's ALSO true that your team can possibly be fucking you up in cases where you could climb. I'm saying this because the only person you can control is you. Even if we all know your team can't make a play to save an infant, you can't play the game for them. You CAN play well enough that, over time, you'll climb. So it's best to focus on what you can fix, which is you. And, so I can really hammer this home, be hard on you. Not TOO harsh, but don't just brush off your deaths and bad calls. Actually think them over and identify what you did wrong, why, and how you can avoid that in the future, even with limited information.

You have insane winrate with Veigar, so just stick to only playing Veigar. You'd be an insane rank if Veigar was the only champ you played. Also, Veigar buffs soon.

No, you're just not taking the right steps to improve.

Take breaks from losing streaks once in a while. Also, play champions who you like and find fun. You're not going to find any motivation in climbing if you don't have fun with who you play.

Don't take Ranked too seriously. It honestly means nothing because Solo Queue is a complete joke as you climb higher.

I only play champs I like but everyone chooses shit bans, like Jax.

work on improving... instead of climbing. ..

once you learn the game and improve as a player you will climb

you cant control anything your team does at any elo/rank/mmr

you can control what you do...

and that is where you have to improve... improve on trades in laning phase. improve on cs , improve on warding , improve on wave management , etc etc etc . learn more about jungle routes and timing, rotations, etc

In other words when my jg ends up giving him kills because they try to dive them early and/or with low HP

well you cant control what they do... but you can try to ping them back , or say things like oom. etc so they get the idea they arent getting help might discourage them from diving.

but in lane knowing when to freeze , push, have the wave crash push to you and how to plan your backs/recalls around this , roams, rotations and how to set up for blue timers, positioning in lane etc.

at lower elos people dont know all the variables of champs, items, power spikes, waves management etc so knowing for example veigar is better at killing a champ once he has 6 or his ring of death off cd would be better timing to gank for him if... the wave is pushing towards him so the enemy has to over extend... or if the enemy has burned cds, and you need to know hey i have a lee sin jungler he can do this at this time at thsi level and typical jungle route would be this and that and then he can come to mid for a gank but i need to make sure i havent burned certain spells/cds and i have the wave and the enemy is a position that helps him. etc all of these is things if you watch pro play and high high elo play you see they set up. they know when they are going to gank a lane minuets before due to a list of factors

My brother who's D3 taught me all that wave management and stuff, the problem is, people in my elo are SO DUMB they think they can kill someone even when I ping not to go in, then proceed to blaming me for "no warning"

jwebb01131 votes

ok if your brother who is d3 taught you the game then why is he d3 and you are barely silver?

there has to be something you clearly dont get.

cuz he made it through all those bad players to get do d3

Well if the meta would stop shifting every 3 days I'd get somewhere.

yet the meta has always changed and those in diamond and high elo who get there season after season do so with the meta shifting

Yes. This season is all about ADC. So unless you want to try and main ADC, theres no point. You can try going tank and peeling the adc all you want, but if its a bad adc its a lost game.
