Honest opinion about Ryze

They made the wrong ability a skillshot. A point and click snare is just so unfun to play against. But having his Q be point and click wasn't really that bad.

his point and click Q was legit cancer vs melee's in top lane. he would basically spam it on you on cooldown and harass you out of lane for free.

yea his current q cant go through minions making it harder to land. i think if they were all skill shots doing the combo would be kinda hard or maybe easier cuz u dont have to hver the champions but would risk missing.

I think as long as they kept the range low it wouldn't bad. I think before Darius Q had a longer range.

Not to mention, a point and click snare is necessary to deal with mobile champions that are difficult to hit with skillshots. Imagine if Ryze's snare was a skillshot. Champions like Kalista LeeSin Fizz would easily destroy Ryze

the other two are bound to get close to you as they are mele. however kalista is an adc. and she can get locked down by supports and an adc like vayne or corki that have gapclosers.

The point and click part of his Q wasn't even the main problem in his original kit

It was that all his spells do not draw minion aggro, so he can poke melee champions for free in lane. Otherwise, I agree with you. The snare is too strong to be point and click.
