Dodging while autofilled should make you autofilled when you next queue.
This is the only way to adequately reduce queue times because otherwise I'm still going to sit through 15 fucking queues to get into a game.

I'd rather they dodge and not be in my game.
Well, if they dodge, they get a penalty to wait out, while you can start yout next game, so it's unlikely that you both will be matched in the next game.
Once I had a very bad game with one intentionally feeding mongrel (running down the lane for like 12 deaths in a row is indisputable really). I waited like 5 minutes (first dodge penalty is 6 minutes so not far off) before queuing again and what did I get?
Nigh instant game with the same bitch.
Plus those multiple times that I've been matched with the same people after a while. I remember one was after 2 weeks and another after godknows how long. I always block AFKs, feeders, trolls, etc. so it's very easy for me to tell if I played with those people.
I disagree, I am god awful at support. I am talking 0-15 every game awful.
If I dodge when I get support, I can take 3LP loss instead of 20, and I also don't hurt my MMR. I am in no rush to climb, so I don't care about the five minute wait.
It also means that if you were matched with me, you only lose about 30 seconds of your time, rather than 20 minutes and 20LP.
Be thankful people dodge when they dodge after autofill.

Then you should fucking learn to play the game so that you don't intentionally feed.
For 5 seasons players had to learn to semi play support.
And no, you don't cost me 30 seconds. You and players like you cost me several minutes every fucking time I try to get a game because they will wait until halfway into the queue to dodge, and then I have to wait for another player, and THEN go through ALL the hubub of champion select in hopes that someone won't dodge AGAIN. I go through an average of 2-3 champion selects per game I actually play, not including the semi frequent remakes I get 1 in 10 games or so which wastes about 20 minutes of my time.
Just man the fuck up and play what role you get. If you can't manage to not go 0-15 on a passive support like janna or soraka then you are either intentionally feeding or go back to normals.
Rich when a gold player tells someone to learn to play.
Why waste time learning support when I can just one trick and climb?
If it is such a big deal, and that you think you are a god at all 5 roles.. why don't you swap with them to prevent a dodge?

A) I'm a mid plat shitter, not a gold scrub. Git it rite
B) One tricking is fine. I don't care about that.
C) You are free to specialize. But being unwilling to work with the team to the point that you dodge every time you get autofilled does nothing but fuck over everyone else and increase queue times, which increase autofill.
D) Who the fuck says they're going to dodge? They don't. Someone just does.
E) I didn't say I was a god at all roles. But I'm competent enough at all of them to do well or at least not feed at my worst one, which is ADC. I'm probably not going to shit on everyone in Plat as ADC, but I can cs and avoid feeding, and if I have a really good support they can carry me.
F) Oh, and going 1-15 every time you go support is a pretty big deal. You either need to git gud or stay away from ranked because that's basically intentionally feeding.
A) not currently. B) Unless you like Shaco support, you would care. C)I work with the team, I save them 20LP. D) You can ask "Is anyone unhappy with their autofill placement" E) If you want to take that risk, relying on your support, then go ahead. I would rather play comfortably all the time. F) Despite my score, I win most support games because macro > micro. However, I would rather have both.

No mechanic supports are worse for me. I tried to play Janna but I ended up feeding because I kept wanting to do things when I really can't. So it's not that you should play a non mechanical support, it's that you should play a support that most fits your playstyle. For me Morganna/thresh would be easier than Janna.
I are support

i like it,

Exactly. I don't want to, so I don't. My time would be much better spent playing and practicing the only champion I play.
It is no different than when the enemy team picks or bans him, I dodge. It is no different than if I suddenly have a change of heart mid lobby and feel like I won't perform at my best.
In any case, players dodging because they know their performance will be less than desirable will cost you less time and effort than playing a match with sub-par teammates.

I both agree and disagree. Yes specialization is good since it encourages consistent improvement on relevant skills but being too specialized results in the kind of issues auto fill causes.
Personally I specialize in tanks/engagers/mages. Note that I didn't say what lane. That's because each position has a champ that fits my specialization allowing me to not be phased by auto fill in the slightest.
The idea isn't to specialize in a lane or role but rather chamipion type. If you like assassins there's one that could be played in top, mid, and jg. Marksmen can go top, mid, jg, bot. Tanks can go top, mid, sup. Mages could go top, mid, bot, sup. And mundo goes where he pleases. (Jk he's a top/jg) Not every chamion can go every role but there is someone who can who is the same type.
Maybe in master tier.
But anyone up to even diamond 3 should be able to play all roles.
[deleted]
Im the type of person who would say "I can play every role"
But saying "I can play every role" means that you can play every role averagely effective and not instantly feed if you were to get autofilled.
For example, I personally hate top lane and avoid playing it, but I put the time into playing it and have an open champion pool in the situation I am stuck there.
0/15 every time someone was to go support is (personally) completely unacceptable. I and everyone I know can play every role with decent effectiveness.
Obviously people want their best roles, but in an autofill meta I feel like everyone should be able to play every role.
[deleted]
I play every role. Its mostly because I don't know what role to main anymore. Send help I'm having an identity crisis.
I can play every single role at an equal level. I am silver 5.
The level in question is known as "absolute shit" but a level is a level.
i can play every role with any champ and still go negative just fine. not sure what you're getting at.
[deleted]
Maybe if you were an elo whore you wouldn't consistently place Bronze.
The goal of ranked is to climb.
[deleted]
Taking advice from a repeat bronze offender
Haha.
No but seriously, your lack of credentials aside...
Why would I waste time improving on roles I play maybe 5% of the time, when I can spend time improving the champ I play 99% of the time?
[deleted]
I don't blame it on autofill.
OP said that people who dodge because they were filled are detrimental.
I argue they are beneficial.
And you do realize that Shaco support is viable, as is Shaco mid and Shaco top. Just because I am autofilled into those roles, If I don't think Shaco fits in those roles in that particular match, I dodge. Playing the same champ, different roles. See how it works?
It wasn't a matter of "I'm higher elo I must be right" it was "I am higher elo so why do I need advice on climbing from someone at the very bottom. It is like a millionaire asking a homeless man for financial advice. 99% of the time it would be wasted effort.
[deleted]
Toxic Shaco be my main account. Forum banned I think.
I don't have a problem with autofill. Silly idea for low ELO since there is no shortage of players, but necessary in top tier.
Whilst it might take you maybe 5 minutes more to get into a game, it is potential saving you from a 20 minute surrender, and overall making the game you play a bit more even/fair.
Either A. You are playing ranked for fun and a challenge, so you want evenly matched teams. B. You play ranked to climb and you want to win. C. You want to play as many ranked games as you can in a day
Only idiots effected by autofill dodgers are C category, and anyone in C category is an idiot, probably low ELO
Bullshit, I can go ahead and throw 10-20 games and fuck my MMR in the process by learning support.
How are those 10-20 games going to scale against a support main who has 300 games on support every season?
It isn't about "how good you support" becuase you aren't playing against a rank or a scoresheet. It is closer to "How good I can support against my opponent". When their support is a one trick Janna main, your ass will under perform every goddamned time.
[deleted]
You also realize that doing something like that, is also fucking up other peoples games right? Now I am all for people practicing/learning in normals, but if they are in ranked, and they end up getting autofilled to their absolute worst role and they aren't able to actually pull the role off well, then I would much rather that they dodge then end up being on my team causing the loss.
You could argue that they should practice that role in normals, and I partially do agree with you there, however sometimes there are cases where the way a certain role is played that just doesn't...stick with the person. I have a couple friends that can't play ADC to save their life, I also have a few that are abysmal if they are stuck in jungle, and there are a few that are really bad at playing support. It is normal to have a role that you don't do well in, I would even argue that it is fairly normal to have a role that you particularly suck at.
I myself generally do pretty bad at support largely because I can never determine the appropriate times I should be off warding/roaming or just sticking with my team. Granted I can play the role when autofilled and I am confortable enough with my skill level that I wont directly throw the game if I end up with support (hopefully anyway), but I do know that if I was given a different role that I would have had much more impact on the game simply because the other roles are better suited for my skillset. Now if I was even worse at support than I currently am, I would probably just dodge simply to save my team from the pain and suffering of having a bad support.
[deleted]
Support is incredibly impactful, at least to a degree. Vision coverage is integral to being successful at the game, and while yes it is the teams responsibility as a whole, the majority of the burden falls to the support largely because the support can afford to have a sightstone in their build without sacrificing too much in the way of usefulness.
Now at peak ability, I would definitely agree that support does appear to have less impact, because the impact of a support seems to taper off once you hit a certain skill level and doesn't really seem to increase all that much as you improve in skill (at least from what I have seen and heard from people that main support).
To sum up what I mean: A bad support is devastating to the team, and probably has one of the largest negative impacts upon the game outside of having a bad jungler. I'd argue that a bad support is even worse than having a bad mid laner or top laner.
A decent support is a strong boon to the team.
A great support provides roughly the same amount of impact as a decent support (and this is why I feel that the role itself has less players, whether this is actually true is definitely debatable as supports have a lot of "hidden" contribution to the game that isn't really noticed)
Part of the problem with support is also outlined in what you stated. "Playing for fun." A lot of people really don't like the support role, and find it to be incredibly un-fun to play, so if the ywere playing support they really wouldn't be "playing for fun" because they don't actually find it to be fun! This is part of the reason why I don't have the drive to play the role itself, nor do I really have the drive to improve my skill levels in the role past the point that I am already at. If playing and greatly improving as support really had as much impact as playing and improving as a solo lane champion or ADC then I think that a lot of people would play the role more (I myself probably would as I actually do prefer playing tanky cc heavy classes, although I haven't been playing them lately because a pretty decent amount of them feel like discount bruisers in this current meta).
manipulate your MMR, you climb faster than those who don't. given the same amount of wins/games.
Why not use the advantage if you can?
[deleted]
Yes, I will.
What bronze players fail to understand is that your champion pool and micro skills are almost worthless compared to macro play.
While I OTP, I don't have to worry about learning the micro.. it is second nature. I can spend all my time focusing on the map and improving my macro sense.
[deleted]
I don't. I dodge when I am put in support.
Potential MMR loss and potential 20LP loss Vs No MMR loss and 3LP loss.
It really isn't a hard choice.
