You can have the reactions of a sloth and know literally everything about the game. You'll be terrible, but you know a lot. That's basically what Coaches are most of the time (for all sports, mind you) - people unable to play at anything beyond a casual level at best, but knowledgable as hell.
Conversely, you can be a dumbass (especially only about certain topics), but good at playing. You don't have to know what class Yi is to be good. You just have to know how to beat him.
