Is Veigar a viable AP mid champ in todays meta?

With the rise in popularity in AP casters mid again and the decrease in ad mids such as Yas/Zed/Jayce is Veigar in a good position to be played as an anti mage?

The ability to hit R and kill sombody seems like somthing you always want on your team not to mention the amount of Q farm you can get out of a passive lane you can have a bonus 110AP at 20 mins. Thats crazy!

Speaking of crazy let me know if you think im crazy for thinking Veigar is good. I love a good conversation.

can you not let the whole League community know that Veigar is viable? Delete this thread now.

Why can't people keep their mouth shut.

Veigar is viable and has decent damage and CC overall, but he's rather unfun to play since rework, especially the more good your opponent get, the more you see the problem. Main problem being his unreliability and dependance on teammates/ ennemies mistakes.

I had explained the problem (I've not been the only one to "complain" about that) in this thread : http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/jABtbZ6l-veigar-is-not-weak-but

overall Veigar is but it's just better to pick others over him and he's pretty easy to beat now that it's even harder to land his dark matter champions like Fizz and Ahri will tear him apart with their mobility plus they both have some form of CC to make it hard for him to escape against fizz he at least had a chance since his stun was instant but now without it he will get blown away his dark matter is one of the most unreliable spells in the game since you need at least a stun to land it on anyone even if they are just as immobile as him lol veigar takes so much to get going for things a lot of other burst mages can do and safer if you want an AOE stun burst mage go Annie you want a lane bully poke mage just go Azir and at least with his ult Azir can escape while veigar has no form of escape besides a very unreliable AOE stun

Personally, I think he sucks. I tend to play jungle and mid mostly. As a jungler, I feel like I have to take care of him so much more than other mid laners. Yes, if I do it right it pays off, if I fail he is dead weight.

As a mid laner, I don't see the appeal. His entire kit used to be about landing perfect stuns and knowing you can't miss Q+r. Now it's harder to pull off and the pay off is not worth it.

It's not that he's bad, he's just not fun for a long portion of the game

Of course, there's still sadistic pleasure in his ultimate on AP champs who didn't buy any MR but I just don't care much for his current playstyle as much as I love the champ

Yes, he's viable, but his w sucks except in team fights and for farming minions as his e isn't that good anymore.

Great champ, excels at teamfights, and once he hits 6 there's not much you can do about him killing you.

I've always thought Veigar was good, he was kind of lackluster immediately after his "rework", but I think he is a pretty solid pick. It's pretty much the Nasus effect, it doesn't matter what lane he's in, he will farm safely, and will out-scale all of his opponents.

Not to mention having a 2.5 second massive AOE stun which is arguably not as hard to land as people say it is, is an amazing team asset especially when couple with his nasty burst. Add in a nuke that scales off 80_motherfuckin_% of their AP, and you'll eventually get to a point where you can just R someone, or Q-R.

He was one of my favorite champions and the only reason I don't play him as much anymore is because I had to broaden my champ pool, but nonetheless I think Veigar is a relatively solid pick minus mobility issues.

Veigar

Sure he can start off shaky, but late game(if he is good at farming Q) will basically R any AP enemy and kill em o.o

never hate the most evil yordle.
