Report for "False Reporting"

So I get a lot of 'report' threats for simple mistakes. Even when I try being nice, and explaining it was a mistake I still get harassed. I'm sure this happens to everyone. So I think there should be a 'false report' category in the report options. Just as a safeguard. So when a player is harassed (s)he may ask other players to file 'false report' on the salty player. I know there's always a way to abuse the system, but the least we can do is try to be understanding of each other- and not go out of our ways to see other people suffer. Until then, there should be a safeguard against this abuse- even if there's a slight potential the safeguard may be abused.

I once in a while report teemo players for being toxic.

I mean he has toxic in an ability name so can you blame me.

But it is often something else and the fact they are playing teemo just makes me feel more of a need to do so.

Riot already knows if you got reported falsely, they do have a system in place.

You'd like to think that, but you don't work for Riot, so unless you cite proper sources for this statement, what you are saying is false.

Someone clearly doesn't come on the boards much. A good place to start now that you're new here is the "Best" section, you can just skim through the Rioters things to catch up on what most people already know.

In this case, what I'm talking about is coming from the "New player reform system" post.

Yes, the system "validates" every report, and false reports are ignored. If the report is generally correct, but the system just doesn't believe the behavior is worthy of a punishment, the reports will still "stick," and could affect the next potential check of the player. -Lyte

People who say "Report so and so for feeding". Just report them for 'false report' as a safeguard.

calling "report ..." in chat is a form of negative attitude and can be reported as such. It's not a huge offense, but if they do this in almost every game, they will get punished for it.
