Which Champion to Get Next?

Flash to KS··1 votes·978 views

I have been playing this game for a while, so I know all champions. However, I'm open to suggestions regarding whom to get because maybe someone here will suggest a champion I haven't thought of.

A few things to note:

  1. I'm going to have 6300 IP soon, so I'm not restricted by IP price.

  2. I main mid and support.

  3. I love playing assassins and tanks more than any other type of champions. My least favorite role is ADC, followed by jungle.

So, any recommendations?

Well if u main mid and support u could go Morgana, Lulu, Karma, Velkoz?

I have considered all of the above, but quite frankly, Morgana, Lulu, and Karma seem too boring for me to pick up. Vel'Koz I could look into again, but I don't feel very interested in learning him enough to be really good at him.

Lulu is a lot less boring than she appears. If you play her mid and build full AP, not only are your shields stupid big but you can get some insane move speed buffs from whimsy. It is still more of a supportive role because you won't have the same finishing power as other mid laners but you can still have some fun.

Lulu does bring tons of utility and peel to her team, but when I play mid, I tend to prefer playing champions that can carry. One of my main frustrations with the support role is how hard it can be to carry from it, so I usually avoid this frustration by playing champions with carry potential when I go in other lanes or the jungle.

Gotcha...I respect...i, on the flip side, feel like I know when I carried a game as a support because I set up an early kill for my ADC, got early sight stone/moby boots, warded everywhere and it snowballed...that's what I love above league though, I get great enjoyment in that while you enjoyment in other ways.

Orianna if you want a really fun and versatile mage, bit if you want to be an assassin go for ekko, also really fun and makes you feel super smart when you play him well

What advantage(s) does Orianna have over, say, Viktor, Ziggs, or Lux?

Veraska1 votes

While her range is a bit shorter then lux and ziggs they mostly just do damage, viktor is comparable in power, but Orianna is more versatile then any of the mages you listed

The mages you listed are primarily damage focused, and Orianna does roughly the same amount of damage while having powerful speed boosts and shields to support her allies.

And her ult is arguably the most powerful ult in the game, it makes you one of the only mages in the game who can start a 5v5 fight and it can also amplify a teammates powerful engage for a decimating combo.

Thanks for the explanations. I might get Ori, then. From what I gather, though, she has awful last-hitting. I can see that being a potential problem if I do end up getting her.

It takes a little getting used to but it's way better then say then say, karthus or anivia, her passive makes her auto attacks do a % of her ap so her last hitting is really good when you get the hang of it

Orianna is safer than Viktor and Lux in my opinion because she's a little less immobile. Not by much but some. Ziggs is farther ranged than Orianna on his abilities but I would say that Orianna has better team fight presence than Ziggs.

As far as supports go, Nautilus is really fun Support Tank. I believe he's 4800. Better yet, Nautilus can flex to Top lane or Jungle, unlike other tanky supports (Braum, Alistar, Blitzcrank, Thresh) who simply don't have the means for wave clear or for kill pressure (albeit Thresh does have the kill pressure.).

I don't play like any mid lane so I unfortunately can't offer any insight there.

Thanks for the suggestion; Naut fits what I want pretty solidly, which is why I already got him a while back. :D

Gotcha, Thresh may be another cool one (although the if you main support I bet you already have him.) I was nervous to get Thresh because he's so complicated and I didn't know if I could pull it off but with practice, you get better and you can really become a phenomenal play making support.

I actually don't have Thresh, although I have indeed considered getting him. He is on my shortlist at the moment.

I main Blitzcrank for support, though, and I enjoy him considerably more than any other champion I have played (except for Kassadin, who is on par with Blitz for me in terms of fun). I'm not sure if I would end up playing Thresh that much considering how much I love Blitz (who is kinda similar in terms of picking out targets).

Guyy Fieri1 votes

Honestly, from my experience...I enjoyed playing Blitzcrank...but Thresh takes it to a whole new level. Plus, even if you miss the hook on Thresh, there is more to his kit that still allows you to be effective. On Blitzcrank, realistically, if you miss your hook there isn't much else he can do. In my opinion, you have Thresh and worse Thresh. Just my opinion, take it as it is.

How about Syndra? How is your ball control?

Flash to KS1 votes

Thought about her, but I don't think she's in a very good state right now compared to some other mages, not to mention that I don't feel like putting a lot of effort into learning her, as she's relatively quite difficult.
