Explain how Kalista is overpowered

Shroom Junkie··3 votes·1,054 views

Okay, I'm sincerely asking this. How is Kalista more overpowered than say, Sivir, or Jinx? What makes her so 'broken' so that it causes an uproar? And, why did nobody give a crap about her until she was played in the LCS?

She's highly unfun to play with or against, but definitely not overpowered (unlike other adc's, she's not the best tank buster especially with her recc builds).

She can soulbond with someone without consent (Bard ults are temporary, but this affects your entire gameplay experience. Want to roam? Reported), she can ult without any communication on her part, and can choose not to save her support even when her ult is up (good luck getting any peel afterwards...). She's way too support-reliant, and if you combine that with the forced soulbonding it makes supporting her a pain for a lot of us.

She isn't overpowered. People just don't like playing against her. Seems kind of silly to me, but I feel that way about champions like Vlad and Swain and other people don't seem to agree with me on that so I guess I'm just different.

Exactly. She isn't. She's just annoying to play against. Just like Tryndamere, Blitzcrank, Jinx, Fizz, and Heimerdinger. They're all annoying to me. Does that mean they should be nerfed? Removed? Anything? No.

Literally, the only reason she's more popular than most is because she was played a ton in the LCS, so she's now being played a ton normally, and a ton of people get annoyed.

I may be stating this wrong, but she has a serious case of the certainlyT-s.

its not that any of her kit is powerful on its own, its that shes absolulutely overloaded, like zed, or yasuo.

q-1.good damage skillshot that can 2.pass through if it kills w-1.infinite mobile wards 2.bonus damage very often, because why not e- infinitely stacking execute r-colloquially known as "im not only an ADC, im also a support (first activation) and I can gank my own lane (second actuivation)

passive-bunny rabbit hop

unlike most champs with extra abilities (elise, nid, jayce) all of her abilities go together and doesn't lose anything from using them.

tl;dr infinite dash, infinite execute, support level synergy with ADC damage, her own support and jg.

AHAHAHAHAHA yeah no she has to have a support to support anyone and when the support throws themselves, they can't come in from behind, only in front, and if ranged, quite a ways in front.

Actually, Kalista's ultimate places ranged champions on the edge of their maximum attack range from the first champion struck, so they aren't in any immediate danger if they're smart.

what I meant by that was she has cc, saves, self peel, her ult knocks up, allowing her to get into range.

People have been complaining since her release.

They weren't complaining a few months ago when I first discovered her. Or at least, not as much as they are now.

She has a 0 cd dash AND takes control of characters without their consent (they don't even get a chance to refuse the bond...)

The dash is what makes her, her. And the cooldown is basically how fast she can attack. The part of controlling others can be annoying, but hey, there's no downside. Its like, 10 seconds to bond, and then the ult is optional. So you get pulled? So what? Don't like being pulled? Drop yourself right back where you were and not only did you not get repositioned, you got a free knockup. And say you don't want to go back. You get to dash aways even further to get yourself to safety.

Shes not necessarily overpowered, but she is overloaded. Her kit has so much in it, that she's doomed to always either be too strong or too weak.

And she's just not fun to play against. There's a philosophy that you can have fun playing against other champions, and either beating them or learning how to beat them next time. No amount of items, masteries, or summoners can help you catch a Kalista with a bit of attack speed, and unless you have a root or stun in your kit, she will always kite you away, every time.

so essentially shes not OP, just unfun to be against. like lee, or fizz or swain

I don't think Kalista is "OP", just her E. At level one, a Kalista did over 250 damage with it from attacking me a few times. Since she's so sticky with that passive, so nothing can stop you from losing 50-60% of your health early game to that E.
