What happened to non adcs bot lane?

I remember riot trying to let other champions be viable in the bot lane carry role but what happened to that? I liked the direction they were going with adcs having to scale more, but then they made and much cheaper basically reverting that. The only non adc champions that show on op.gg are and with both of them having below a 1% pickrate. I wish riot would revisit this topic and consider some changes such as giving melee champions W passive on an item (just an example).

I believe mages are viable, but given the choice of ADC or Mage most players will choose to keep playing what they have in bot for years, the marksman.

Players will only be torn away from their accustomed champs if adc are made too weak or mages made too strong.

I think there are plenty of viable picks, especially in low elo.

People are just sheep.

If the top players do something, everyone else just follows, and anything else is considered trolling.

I'm not saying its 100% bullshit, and people should just ignore top players.

I just think people should be more open minded.

The example I always use is Heal vs TP.

When I would play bot lane in the past, I always use heal at crappy times.

However I'm good at farming, so I would bring TP to extend my CS lead even more.

My friends would get FUCKING TILTED.

If we EVER lost a fight, they would say "Maybe if you had heal...."

NOW that many top players bring TP to bot lane, I still do it, and nobody cares.

In fact TP has been hugely nerfed since then, so if anything, it is a worse choice now, than months ago when I got all the hate.

Just sheep man.

It happens everytime marksmens gets nerfed: ADC mains will complain until they are on top of the food chain once again, just like in S7.

Granted, immediatly post-crit nerfs patch, adcs really were underwhelming. But they deserved only some slight buffs, but instead they got like 4-5 patches of constant raw number pumping, this resulting in becoming so god damn strong that anyone who isn't a marksmen is doomed in botlane

Heimer and Vlad are still viable bot. Because if Sneaky, I've also been having fun with Viktor APC. Mages are still viable bot, but Riot recognized ADCs scale too slowly to keep up and buffed them

They're too difficult for adcs to deal with early on so I think they were nerfed out of it.

Not so much that it wasn't viable, it just made a lot of other champions not viable.

It's not that Stormrazor or IE is cheaper. They are more consistently powerful, and Stormrazor's Move speed bonus is broken, making adcs inescapable.

If they removed the move speed from Stormrazor, you'd see a very different Bot lane. Mages would go down there more often, because they could use CC and skills to avoid the chase.

Adc is still a super strong role however some people just choose to complain rather than fix their play. Anyway those champs are bad because adc items are so cheap and so good.

Nvm if Morde is the 3rd Best APC at High elo. Just ignorant people being ignorant.
