Why do people say "We can peel for the adc!"

I say there is 99% no way you can. For example the enemies are: Gnar top, Vi jungle, malzahar mid, vayne adc, and thresh support.

No matter if your team chooses janna or whatever champs, there are 2 dive champions, 1 hook champion (if you get hit even once gg), one snare champion and an adc that can shred any tanks that dive her. How do you stop a full dive team when their adc is competent enough to defend herself? Maybe kalista can defend herself so pick her but everyone else when dove by the enemy team WILL die

They only have ONE champion that is unpeelable (Vi), and are a dive team. So take a counter engage team; make diving 100% suicidal for them and see how they like having low pressure based entirely on trying to pick one of you off.

^ This...and peel for your carry. if you punch their diver in the face enough times...he will re evaluate his course of action, and your adc needs to kite back.

Also...what the hell do you have on your team? 5 Garens? you have engage, you have cc, you have tools of your own...maybe click buttons and see what happens?

The whole point of the AD carry is to be get peels from teammates while the carry focuses the high-priority stuff in teamfights. That's literally the reason why they are referred to as carries.

That's really hard to do when you have a tanky or semi Tanky champ in your way and the enemy usually trying to peel for their carrys as well.

As an ADC, you can do constant DPS to just about any target, including the tank. What you really can't do is dive the enemy. You would have to be a Bruiser or Assassin to do that. A lot of the time you have to just club the closest target you can safely reach.

The ADC is really a trump card in team fights. The fight is usually won if the enemy damage dealer is taken out.

If your assassin and bruiser-teammates are spending their time diving into the enemy during teamfights instead of acting as a deterrent for dives themselves or split-pushing, and still end up being successful, then the enemy team probably had worse peels than you.

The only champs that should even consider diving at that stage are tanks.

IF the enemy team is full dive mode. I would try a split push comp and try to prevent the team fight from even happening. If you can get cross map objectives, you can keep up or even out run the enemy is team gold, even if you fall behind in kills.

You could also try a poke comp. wear out the enemy before they get a chance to dive, making it dangerous to do so. (think nid jungle and Jayce/Varius/Ez mid.)

If they are trying that damn hard to kill you with all of that then they aren't protecting their own adc and they will get equally blown up. Vi can;t be stopped sure but she isnt going to one shot you, and how is malzahar going to get anywhere near you unless you are completely out of position and if he does your team cant land one cc ability? Gnar is a non factor to you he has no way of just gap closing straight to you and trashing you because his jump will be cced.
