So maybe Veigar isn't as overpowered as we all thought

Hear me out, I feel like there has been a huge divide on whether or not Veigar is "op" or whether he is doing what he has always done.

Well, I played him a bit, played against him a bit, and have seen him a fair amount at worlds now, most recently today. And honestly, while Veigar is certainly "strong" one thing stands out in that he does have a ton of counterplay in that you can and will play around his event horizon cooldown timing. Not only that, if he does not land the horizon or W in a team fight that is a huge huge amount of damage missed.

He scales up insanely fast now and deals insane damage at times in the game that is almost unreal. (600 ap at 25 minutes is crazy) But, this is a champion that if he mis uses his abilities or you can properly play around it can and will most likely be punished. You even saw in the Fnatic vs KOO game today in two team fights, Kuro used his abilities wrong and did very little in those team fights and thus his team lost the ensuing fight. I believe each time he still managed to one shot a target with ulti, but he didn't take over the entire fight like people say he does.

I do feel Veigar is going to be exceptionally strong at lower elos where people not only let him scale, but do not play around his abilities, but in mid to higher elo he will be a bit more balanced.

His ratios might not be the issues, the only issue might be that he just scales slightly too fast with the double ap stacking and death ap 2nd item rush. Not sure. but does anyone else feel he's not AS overpowered as the perception is?

he does have a ton of counterplay

I like how, back in season 3, I posted on the old forums about how toxic his old E was when it had no cast animation, and everyone told me he had tons of "Strategic" counter play because you could just rush merc treads and a null magic mantle, and now after his E was given a cast time people are complaining that he's OP just because he was played in worlds. Well, now the rest of you get to learn to play Galio, as an added bonus he's good vs Brand as well.
