Variance Is SO HIGH That League Feels Less Like a Skill Game Now

Meta is up in the air and nothing can be counted on. Sometimes you get the Vlad bot carry. Other time you get the Yasuo who gets stomped. This was always the case even with traditional ADCs but it was never this exaggerated. Now it's, just all so randomized that individual influence seems minimal in many games.

The RNG changes like for scuttler certainly make this only worse.

"No meta" meta = best meta

"No meta" meta = best meta

Actually, it means that Master at any "role" is now fucking pointless and League only rewards mastery of a handful of champions, everything else be damned. It means each and every match is more or less decided by the draft and what proportion of these broken ass champions wind up on either team. This can be overcame. However, it requires such a skill difference between teams that the game would be a free win or loss regardless of literally any composition. However, if the game skill level is anywhere near close, as it is supposed to be in spite of riots fuck ups with speeding up matchmaking at the expense of game quality, then everything said prior applies with an additional coin flip to decide which jungle wins.

That's actually non sense tbh. While I also prefer a system with actual "Roles" "The Sieger" - "The Poker" - "The Engager" - The Disengager" over League of "Everyone can do everything but also sucks everywhere" (You know - Waveclearing ADCs, Bursting ADCs, Sieging APCs, DPS Assassins.. all the BS we face theses days...)

The Mastery of 'Role' you talking about is something completely different. If you are a good at your JOB you can win games even if it's an asymmetrical war VS someone who has a different job.

First you want diversity, then meta. Arguably individual skill means more because that decides if your random pick works or not.

Same logic can be applied to Aram.

And it does. :>

The unfortunate thing though is skill doesn't actually matter as now you have everyone doing this and the overall summation of this outcome is, as the op described, completely unreliable game play where mastery is not rewarded at a role. Just at one tricking a champ that is overstatted, IE Irelia, and viable at multiple roles. The, individual skill, aspect of this is entirely gone. It simply boils down to who drafts the comp with better champions now and there are in few cases games where they still lose because they are trash. Adc was the Warden on this shit show of a Zoo meta. For some reason Riot fucked up and decided to remove all sub classes of adc from the game except the early game subclass.

Git Gud.

There are only a few outliers that need to be put in their place... Yasuo, Overloaded Irelia and some other crap. Give some love to crit adcs.

Then the game would be fine.

I don't care about a solidified meta. I just want a lower variance game. I don't want to be dealt a free win or a free loss.

Variance only impacts individual games. Skill impacts your overall winrate across 100+ games, as long as you are skilled you will inevitably rise regardless of the variance.

If you want more consistent games main pieces of advice: 1: Make sure you are being consistent and going for safe moves rather then risky plays. A lot of people tend to do things more erratically then they realize and add to the variance. 2: Focus not on what players should be doing, but what you can do to compensate. IF an ally is too passive then just stay back, if they are too aggresive then dive in with them, or split well away from them. 3: Always stay positive no matter what and try and rally your team no matter what. You would be shocked at the turnaround that can happen.

It would be perfectly fine if we didn't have to ban Nunu/Karthus/Yi/Taric and let Graves/Irellia/Zed/Pyke through in their place.

It's been like a week on this new patch change is slow man the point is there is no meta atm just like in season 1 so the question is who will be the first to figure it out. It's theory crafting time there is no mobafire easy win now boys

We finally have a good amount of diversity in the game just like everyone has been asking for but people are now realizing that they don't like their role getting changed for this. I like the bot-meta and tbh when you think about it bot lane without jungler assassin has always been a coin flip to see who gets the better carry that wins you the game, now were just seeing new strategies in place and people are seeing testing grounds that is a lot of fun for everyone but the tryhards in solo/duo who want something concrete to follow. I personnally dont care if there are 2 melee bot or not i kinda just ignore the lane and get my top and mid as fed as i can because like always it's a coin flip down there and people aren't sure how to play with or against these new champs. GIve it a patch and people will figure out whats viable and the game will stabilize but for now just try to adapt and try hard to be the first to figure it out.
