Would it work? I know akali used to snowball hard and stuff but how do you guys think she will fare against the current meta toplaners. I'm a top lane main and I can play just about any top laner. I'm trying to find a pick that isn't common but can do well or even carry games.
redniwediS1 votesShe's weak to many of the bruisers who go up there. She used to be played top fairly often, but those bruisers just pushed her out. You can still do it, just don't expect yourself to snowball quite as easily as you would in mid lane.

meta rn seems to be more and more tanky. Basically those boring top lane tanks like sion and such. I main riven but looking to expand because I don't like playing the same champion over and over. I've been also occasionally taking Yasuo top for example. It's not usually something you see but i'm comfortable with non-tank picks into tanks.
redniwediS1 votesYou may want to try Zed then. There are a few non-tanks up there he may have a problem with, but in the right hands you can make that lane yours pretty easily.

my concern with zed is the dynamic changes he keeps getting. He is getting changed so much that it would seem annoying to try to learn him while they are adjusting him into the power level they want him to be.

aaronautumn1 voteswhen renek was popular i used to struggle against him as akali. irelia is pretty hard too. if you start cloth and pots you can maybe survive lane. but i can't see you getting many kills.
Lil Soybean1 votesAkali can go top and do well if played skillfully, in my opinion. Also, in my opinion, I am not skillful at Akali. But I've seen her played to great success as a toplaner in diamond games.
