Laners Love Complaining When Jungler Doesn't Gank

Mira Arya Enthe··63 votes·6,569 views

But when their lane opponents are in your jungle for 50% of their play time they seem well obliged just to stand under their own turret daydreaming while the wave is pushed to the enemy tower. Oh let me guess, you had more important things to do like securing objectives and ganking other lanes?

If your lane enemy is always in your jungler, and you don't feel like helping, at least do something useful like push the lane and deny him farm or gank another lane or take an objective. Because when we junglers aren't ganking your lane, at least we are doing something, somewhere on the map.

Yes a salt post, just got out of a game where the enemy support Malz, mid Talon and top Trynd were permanently in my jungle. Did team push objectives? Nope. Did they deny the enemy farm and push? Nope. Did they take a tower? Nope. They actively, sat there, under their tower, doing absolutely nothing of objective value, complaining about not getting ganks, while I was in the middle of running from the enemy support and mid laner, pinging for help... wow...

Things the laner could be accomplishing while their enemy is chasing me.

Collapse on the enemy and kill them Shove waves hard, for farm and exp(While denying their opponents the same) Shove wave and damage or take the enemy tower. Shove wave then go kill their weakened lane enemy. Shove wave then take an objective or enemy camps. Shove wave and take dragon. Shove wave then gank/tp gank another lane. Shove wave and back to buy items while the pressure is off.

Bad idea lol

Tilted af my friend. Tilted af. I honestly wouldn't care if they completely ignored me as long as they were doing ANYTHING of objective value(I have the same mentality when laning myself). But they would stall under their own tower to type in chat how awful I was because I wasn't ganking. While their laners were actively chasing me away from my camps.

Meanwhile whenever i split push into the enemy teams inhib my team is just casually farming the jungle :^}

My complaint to junglers is when theirs does a level 3 gank and ours doesnt invade, doesnt gank or even show up in another lane. Usually its fine and understandable since it happened and theres nothing you can do about it now except maybe invade, but if you dont show up on the map while the enemy jg went to 3 lanes already and has the same farm as you getting pressure everywhere and keeping up/beating you in farm then I get irritated.

Another time is when i let the enemy laner push into my tower, and i see you in the river near my lane and ping and you just spam /L and leave. (when its still a 0-0 lane)

Mira Arya Enthe2 votes

Understandable, this simply means the jungler is not playing well. I don't expect a laner to win their lane. I do expect them to try, which is all I expect of my jungler when they jungle, to try. That is all I ask of anybody. But getting upset when you are being camped and your jungler does nothing elsewhere on the map is understandable, it is literally the same complaint I have in the OP.

Zerenza2 votes

That's like 90% percent of the reason i get mad at jungler's, the other 10% is cause they come into my lane after i had to back early(i play alot of assassins, you get used to being pushed out of lane sometimes really early) and they come to my lane while i'm gone then die. Like first why are you 25% health ganking a lane with NO ONE INSIDE IT!? Why are you only level 2 but the enemy jungler almost killed me and is level 3? Why did you think it was a good idea to gank a level 5 full health annie when your level 2? Idk, i'm not a jungler but 10% of the time, it happens XD

I'v also grown accustomed to not getting ganks, i don't play champions that need ganks often, i don't need a gank to kill someone with Katarina or Ekko in mid lane and i'd prefer to create preasure and force the enemy jungler to gank me with Illaoi and Yorick in top lane.

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

While I know sometimes it's a l2p issue, aren't there cases where some junglers are better at ganking, while others are better at farming?

NinjaKS2 votes

You are completely correct.

I main jungle and can attest that all jungle champs have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to farm or gank potential. Junglers with hard CC (stuns, knockups) and good damage are usually great early game gankers like Jax, Zac, Vi, Ivern, and Elise, especially when they have a laner who also has some form of CC or hard CC that can cause a stun lock or keep the enemy from being able to escape. Other jungle champs like Yi, Shaco, Evelyne, and Kha, have a much harder time getting early ganks (taking out the skill of the summoner) unless a good opportunity is created by your team or bad plays by the enemy team. These assassin's require the laner to possess more of the CC so that their high damage can assist in a gank. Setup is definitely key to any early game gank or ganks in general.

Technically all junglers are "good" at ganking as long as the opportunity is available however damage output and CC are the usual deciding factor for a successful gank. Early game is difficult for some junglers like Sej, Maoaki, and Nunu due to their general tankiness over damage. Although they may posses good CC they don't add as much to the overall kill potential. These champs tend to clear camps and farm up for their ults to help in a gank. Before WW rework he was the poster child for this statement as it was gank at 6 or bust for him (nocturne is similar however his fear and damage make him still a solid early ganker).

TL:DR - Setup, CC, and good damage output are the recipe for success for a gank early or in general.

I hope this helped answer your question/thought.

So much this.

There are so many times when allies can just walk into the jungle and 3v1 an enemy, thereby punishing the enemy for attempting to invade the jungle and making them think twice about doing so again. Instead, they just let their ally die and then report the ally for feeding and griefing and entertain themselves by insulting their own jungle in all chat. Seriously, what the actual fuck is wrong with people?

Ben Sharpio3 votes

well thanks to the blast cone, someone can invade you and easily get away, and make the laner lose a fuck ton of lane control if they choose to try and help. Remove the blast cone so that invaders can actually be punished, and encourage laners to help out.

Troll for Trump3 votes

goes to help loses xp and gold because wave is constantly pushed to their turret and jg isn't helping turret loses more hp If you're behind, then what you do is farm under turret, correct? And when they're fed, they'll push the turret and roam/counter jgl, as they're supposed to. If you, as the jgler, are letting them constantly push without punishing them, so they can roam and counterjg whenever they want, that's on you.

And, at that point, if you've let them alone that far, they can probably easily 1v2 the laner+ jg.

If you want them to shove, then the laner comes back and the lane ends up being frozen and the laner gets zoned out of all the cs and xp, and risks dying even trying to get in range of the minion death xp. And what happens when they die trying to soak xp?

"WTF WHY ARE YOU PUSHING SO FAR U R BEHIND STAY UNDER TURRET NOOB"

if not frozen, the enemy laner's already more fed, with better items they can shove the wave much faster than you.

It's a loselose situation, the only way is for the enemy fed laner to die, and the gank is the best way to do this.

The jgler is the most important role. Objective control used to be a lot more important, but ganking has proven itself to be much more efficient. The best "objective control" now is counterjgling, so the enemy doesn't have the resources to gank.

If you're a really good jgler and have good map awareness, try supporting. I recently switched over from jg to support and can tell you its less stressful and easier to carry games. Im currently on a 20 game winning streak playing support. Basically in low elo ppl get caught all the time. Your job is to ward and ping ppl back as much as possible. I just try to lead my team and get picks mid game. Its like a mini game inside the game trying to pick ppl off then getting objectives. Will probably be harder to support carry once you get to a higher ranks though but, players around low gold ranks and lower often get caught a lot.

I feel that when that shit happens. People end up having getting a prey mentality and scramble like pussies. Not cool, if that happens then the best thing anyone can do is command the bastards to do shit and let you take the heat of mates so they can do their fucking job. if they don't get that 3v1 under tower will help you stall them and you can then even score a kill or two for their stupid camping. anyone that is smart will know when you get camped, your goal is to get their attention, junglers that focus too much on camping will just lose their jungle presence and that can lead to an uncontested dragon or buff's. This means that if you can deny them any kills from trying to camp you, you are giving the enemy team a COLOUSSAL KICK IN THE BALLS AS THEY WILL HAVE LOST TOWERS WHILE YOU ARE UNDER YOUR LYFAO

So if you can circumvent their attempt at camping. you are basically hurting them in ways their don't realise because they are being to greedy for kills.

This. This why Riot thinks I'm "toxic". As a jungle main, nothing pisses me off more than literally everything you've just discussed. It's like laners don't recognize that the space between the lanes doesn't exist and those who occupy it are simply figments of their imagination. Fuck em.

Mira Arya Enthe3 votes

Until they need a gank or buff of course.

Gregor Gysi2 votes

If Riot think that you're toxic you probably are. Stop flaming.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

Literally the single worst piece of "logic" I have ever heard. You literally just suggest that Riot Games, a FKIN VIDEO GAME DEVELOPER COMPRISED OF PEOPLE WITH VERY LITTLE SOCIAL SKILL (see literally every video containing Rioter's talking) are the police on toxicity.

Gregor Gysi1 votes

LOL. Firstly, do you really think that the game developers are the ones who "police toxicity"? Or even worse, do you think that Riot only employs game developers?

Secondly, one does not need to be a social butterfly to identify a toxic person. As it is right now there is more than enough room for expressing dissatisfaction with your teammates, only the really toxic people get banned. And by the way you are lashing out right now I guess you are not the exception.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

only the really toxic people get banned

wrong. This is wrong, and you have fallen for the exact trap that Riot has created. They INTENTIONALLY discredit anyone that gets banned by claiming it is fkin impossible to get bannned so that people llike you can launch your 100% ad hominem arguments against anyone that protests the system. The reality is that a single bad day almost certainly results in a ban of some kind, and that just because I have been punished DOESN'T mean I am automatically incorrect in my assessment of how ridiculous the system is.

Gregor Gysi1 votes

Remember the days when Lyte smited people on the boards? Everyone was free to claim that they did not deserve the ban - and guess what, all of them got embarassed. Except for the banwave a few weeks ago (which was reverted) I am not aware of any cases in which it turned out that someone got illegitimately banned for toxicity.

By the way, I am very little impressed by your trump-esque "style" of arguing. Saying "wrong" and rambling about the system is not convincing. For me, atleast - although it appears that a large part of the USA was more impressed.

Oh and by the way, are you just admitting to flaming on "a single bad day"? YES it should most definetely result in a ban and if you actually threatened someone IRL then you deserve an instant perma ban as far as I am concerned.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

Ya, and Lyte was straight up fired from Riot Games for his bullshit antics so ya, how does it feel to support someone like that? This kind of behavior is literally cancer. Defaming someone's character in order to defend your own argument is SHAMEFUL, and that's PRECISELY what you are trying to do here, and what Lyte did for years. I am NOT defending myself, I am merely saying that the current system is shit. To use an ad hominem argument to degrade my character as your sole means of defense pretty much proves my point.

Gregor Gysi1 votes

What? Firstly, he was certainly not fired for that. He was still part of the team more than a year after the smiting had stopped. Also, this kind of behaviour is certainly not cancer, after all he had the consent of those who got smited. The fact that you hesitate so little before using "cancer" as an attribute indicates how bad your ingame behaviour is.

No. Those people said that they did not deserve the ban, Lyte asked them for their consent to publish their ingame chat, they consented and got smited. You are obviously not aware of that, so please refrain from talking about things you do not understand.

If your claim is that many people got unrightfully banned - where are your examples? Who got unrightfully banned? We had numerous complaints on the boards, why do you have trouble to back your claim up?

And stop yelling "ad hominem" - I was never attacking you to disprove your argument. I was simply pointing out that nobody in the history of ban complaints was unrightfully banned for toxicity (except for that one wave).

If you want to claim otherwise then back your shit up and stop yelling fancy latin words with little meaning at me.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

Either way, Riot put an end to his smiting because they obviously found it highly cancerous to the people who fell victim to this shit system (and it is utter SHIT, I have no doubt that the majority of people who were contesting their bans for overt toxicity actually didn't understand because the system fails utterly to explain anything and is 100% punitive, not reformative as it claims to be).

And no, my claim was NEVER that people were unjustly banned. My claim is that the system is (and for many years has been) shit. And yes, by implying that I am toxic and therefore deserving of my ban, you are making an ad hominem argument. Maybe not directly, but you are attack me and not my argument.

Gregor Gysi1 votes

No it was simply too much work. Claims claims claims. You had to explicitly consent for Lyte to pull your logs. And please explain how it is shit. It's transparent, it forces people to reflect and it increases peoples trust in the system. Quite a few people actually pulled their shit together after seeing how toxic they are, there were quite a few thx Lyte threads.

"only the really toxic people get banned" - wrong

Yes that was one of your claims. Sorry for not adressing your claim that the system is "shit" but it's just meaningless. What do you expect me to answer to such a general and meaningless claim?

So again: what specifially do you dislike about the current system? In what way precisely is it flawed? What makes it so that the current system fails at reforming people? What kind of change does it need? How would this change be advantegous?

MonkeyMadness1 votes

It's transparent, it forces people to reflect and it increases peoples trust in the system.

The famous words of literally everyone who's NEVER been banned. This system is NOT transparent. Until recently, the reform cards and emails Riot claimed they sent out with every punishment simply did not exist. Email notification still does not occur, despite Riot's claims to the contrary, and reform cards contain only canned statements regarding "toxicity" or "negativity", they do nothing to address the specificity of your punishment. And I can tell you from personal experience, this system does NOTHING to increase people's trust. When I report someone using racial slurs and don't get the "a player you reported has been punished" notification, it feels like shit, ESPECIALLY when I get punished for saying "report playerX". See how those two things aren't really at all comparable yet in theory receive the same punishment? Also, you talk about trust, and yet when a player goes to player support for a more detailed explanation, they must wait a minimum of a week (this is NOT the case for other support tickets, again I know this from experience) and the response will be 100% canned/botted and not answer a single specific question. Riot literally treats any player that gets punished like an animal, not worthy of their precious time, and you DARE to suggest that this is a proper way to encourage reform? You, sir, are an idiot.

You confuse "is" with "was" and when I was talking about transparancy I was talking about what Lyte did - and that was transparent by all means. Also, what more should Riot do than giving you access to logs? More access to logs maybe? I mean that'd be nice, but it's not bad from what I've seen.

Email notification still does not occur, despite Riot's claims to the contrary, and reform cards contain only canned statements regarding "toxicity" or "negativity", they do nothing to address the specificity of your punishment.

Firstly, citation? Doesn't seem like a systemic issue though but rather like a technical issue that occurs only occasionally (if ever).

Afaik the feedback only occurs when a player receives a permanent ban. Also, just show your reform card. If you want to use personal experience then do it properly without leaving anything out.

What do you expect? Should Riot hook people up with therapists for mommy issues if they punish them for saying "i fckd ur mom"? MonkeyMadness1 votes

but it's not bad from what I've seen.

It's pretty bad, Riot is incredibly unclear on the types of behavior that even qualify as a ban, short of saying "negativity". The issue with this is that some people seek to become offended and report at the drop of a hat, and others don't. The issue is that the ban bot (and btw, not a single ban is reviewed by a person, I can prove this, so if you are curious feel free to ask) doesn't discriminate between these two. A person who spam reports is considered just as much as a person who reports only the most toxic players. When humans actually reviewed cases in the Tribunal, Riot would punish players for spam reporting by diminishing the impact of those reports, and even BANNING players who were found to systemically submit false reports (happened to a friend of mine).

Firstly, citation? Doesn't seem like a systemic issue though but rather like a technical issue that occurs only occasionally (if ever).

I've never gotten one after Lyte and his automations took over. Next.

Afaik the feedback only occurs when a player receives a permanent ban.

Wrong. Look at all the false bans that have come out on these forums (usually for cheating, but the system works the same way) and how horribly players are treated when they try to protest. It takes them literally weeks if not months to get their accounts back for offenses that they provably did not commit, and some of these cases were the results of actual account hacking.

Also, just show your reform card. If you want to use personal experience then do it properly without leaving anything out.

I have seen what happens when people's reform cards hit this forum. They are subject to the absolute worst kind of ad hominem arguments the world has ever seen, and raked over the coals without so much as an ounce of context. I will not be doing this, as I believe that the context of my words are equally important to my words themselves. I was confrontational, I do not deny this, but I was confrontational in the face of extreme adversity, and for Riot to actually claim that "context doesn't matter" even in the face of all the shit that happened to PewDiePie is just fucking frightening.

What do you expect? Should Riot hook people up with therapists for mommy issues if they punish them for saying "i fckd ur mom"? What exactly do you think would reasonable and practical at the same time?

YES, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. How many reports do you think are lodged for legitimately toxic offenses? I would bet less than half, and that's a fairly liberal estimate. The rest are filed because one person simply didn't like the other, and they happened to say something like "fuck you" in chat. TECHNICALLY, this is bannable, but this is NOT what actually caused the offense. Riot is, in effect, banning players like me on a technicality, not on real offenses. People do not generally like me, as I come off as very abrasive and confrontational, and I have 0 tolerance for bullshit. This puts me at odds with many people that don't actually take the time to get to know me (which is not possible during a 30 minute game), but this is NOT toxic. However, occasionally I'll drop a "fuck you" or other such "negative" phrase, and THIS is what gets flagged as toxic. Not my actual attitude, but the technicality of my actions. Without a completely transparent "you got banned for exactly this sentence" policy, there is very little means for people like me to "reform".

I was talking about the amount of logs that they provide when banning someone - and that amount is alright imo.

Go ahead and post proof seeing how all perm bans are supposedly reviewed.

And that is wrong. Reports are weighted based on accuracy. That's why I get so many feedbacks, my reports are challenger level ( ;) ).

I've never gotten one after Lyte and his automations took over. Next.

Quite a few people who complained have quoted those emails. Do you have a problem with your email?

Wrong. Look at all the false bans that have come out on these forums (usually for cheating, but the system works the same way) and how horribly players are treated when they try to protest. It takes them literally weeks if not months to get their accounts back for offenses that they provably did not commit, and some of these cases were the results of actual account hacking.

No, cheating and toxicity work entirely differently and claiming otherwise doesn't make sense. The proof for toxicity (logs) is much more accessible and easier to process than proof for cheating. Wrong bans are always for cheating/sharing and never for toxicity. The issue you are talking about is completely different from our topic.

I have seen what happens when people's reform cards hit this forum. Just do it. I can't take you seriously otherwise. The PDP comparison doesn't make sense at all, this is not a media problem, this is not about anyone calling you a racist/fascist, this is simply about whether you (as an example for a supposedly unrighteous ban) deserved the ban or not.

YES, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT.

Whew

How many reports do you think are lodged for legitimately toxic offenses? I would bet less than half, and that's a fairly liberal estimate. The rest are filed because one person simply didn't like the other, and they happened to say something like "fuck you" in chat.

Again, it seems that you are not aware of the fact that reports are actually weighted and people who report based on sympathy won't have valuable reports. I highly doubt that 1 "fuck you" get's you banned because I've never gotten banned/restricted even once despite bantering quite a bit.

TECHNICALLY, this is bannable, but this is NOT what actually caused the offense. Riot is, in effect, banning players like me on a technicality, not on real offenses. People do not generally like me, as I come off as very abrasive and confrontational, and I have 0 tolerance for bullshit.

Most people do not like you? Jesus, mute yourself and you will not only stop getting banned but also rise elo. People play so much worse when you stress them out.

You call "fuck you" a technical consequence of being a dick? I'm pretty sure that you got banned for both, but the "f*** you" looks cooler in the logs. Also, it seems like you are pretty aware of why you are such a negative influence in your games, I don't see how that would fix it. And just show your logs, I really want to know how that "technicality" looks like.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

Don't have the logs. The ban was temporary and has long since expired. But I'll tell you exactly the line that got me banned:

/all: please report my team, they are harassing me and accusing me of trolling

The joke being that I was playing support pantheon AFTER I ACTUALLY ASKED THEM IF THEY WERE COOL WITH IT.

The fact that I even spoke in all chat to try for some small amount of catharsis triggered a 2 week ban. That's logical. The game was already lost, and had long since devolved into a toxic mess due to the rampant accusations of trolling by my teammates and me telling our jungler that if he was going to levy such accusations that he should at least know how to gank.

And the proof that they don't review punishments is that I received my ban at ~12:30am, which was MINUTES (3-5) after the final game on my reform ticket ended. First, no one is even reviewing at that time. Second, 3-5minutes is simply NOT enough time for even a shit review of chat logs, hence, it was done entirely by an automated system. This is fact. Fact with which you simply cannot argue. And if you don't believe me, just sit back and try to remember the last time you got a notification about a player you reported getting banned. It probably was probably only a couple of minutes after the game in which you reported said player. Fact is, Riot does NOT review ANY of their bans. And based on the number of false permabans I see contested on the forums and ultimately overturned after a lengthy and frankly unacceptable process, I have a strong feeling that these are largely handled by the banbot, as well.

Literally all of the problems with the system would be solved by bringing back the Tribunal. As it stands, players (like me) who show enough competitive drive to criticize teammates' performances and not be willing to deal with bullshit and trolling are being utterly purged from this game, resulting in an ever increasing cesspool of casual shit players. I played for a couple years with the Tribunal, and they were simply not as strict, despite what Riot Games claims. Also, the Tribunal could clearly see the context and rule based on the ENTIRE case, not just the evidence that showed guilt. The only "problem" with the Tribunal is that it did take quite some time to hand out the ban, but if time is the only price for true and rational justice, then I have absolutely no problem with that.

A system that punishes 1 innocent person is infinitely worse than one that lets 10 guilty ones go free, and that is the basis of virtually every first world justice system in the fucking world, except for this bullshit that Riot has given us.

"Gragas how come u never gank?"

Enemy adc is Lucian and hes being constantly pushed to his turret by allied Morgana and Draven. Enemy mid lane is Leblanc being pushed in by your Ahri. Enemy top lane is a pushed to turret Riven by your Renekton.

Perfectly sums up bronze -> plat 3 jungling.

As a top lane main.....FUCK ALL YOU JUNGLERS, I hate ALL of you here's why 1)if i push the enemy jngler ganks me, but my laner can push all fcking game and no1 ganks him with my jungler telling me shit like you're a malphite you dont need ganks or top lane isnt critical to winning the game.

  1. you all always fcking come at the WORST time, you're on low and with double buff and no matter how much I tell you all NOT to gank because you are low, you all decide to tower dive them....

3)If I'm being constantly ganked top and you are applying pressure nowhere else, fuck you. If my ass is being camped I expect my bot lane to be fed and 3 dragons for us.

There's thing called "ward," use it sometime. And oh, the medium big thing (usually) in the bottom right corner that shows you where enemies are in your fields of vision, it's called "map."

I do ward, doesnt really do much vs tower dives, and there is a LONG ass CD for wards from lvs 1-9, also wards does not stop my jungler from giving away 2x buffs

They shouldn't be able to dive you just like that unless you fed them.
