I tend to use them as Warwick, Hecarim, Volibear, etc., both for map navigation and for keeping up with targets in ganks. But besides Hecarim (who wants MS quints for obvious reasons), is it a bad idea to take them?

Movespeed feel nice, but the raw stats that attack speed and armor give trump most other options imo.
AuraCreed1 votesI feel like it wouldn't be that bad on Hecarim or Warwick, since speed is a component for their kits but I also don't play either of them avidly either and other stats are more appealing for.. basically everything else.

Warwick is heavily reliant on MS for his ult and to quickly catch up to someone for a gank. Volibear needs them so he won't get kited so hard as he runs in for the gank. Amumu benefits from them as well. They are pretty helpful on Kindred so she has a chance of running away from a bad confrontation. And they can be helpful on Yi.
Narzal1 votesI mean, it's kinda useless to take em on champs that have mobility already in their kit over a better early game, but go for it if you play a slow champ that desperately needs the ms to kite/chase, to live off 1 hp and get away from a flash cause you move faster lol.
Michael7021 votesIf I'm not taking AS, AP, or CDR, I take MS quints. I can live without 6 extra AD. That's not even a long sword. I'd rather have the MS for getting in / out of range.

i think they are needed if you wanted to jungle a jungler who is slow like 
even though he isnt common anymore
i think on a champ who is fast who needs to get in do hit their cc and catch people off guard its nice as well
