There is nothing wrong with leaving Ranked if life calls

Seriously, if I'm playing Ranked after breakfast hopefully before having to prepare for work, there's nothing wrong if I just leave the match if it drags on to long.

I don't get why people get so mad, it's just a video game.

If something happens IRL while the game is going on, that's ok. If you know that you might not be able to play it out but you still decide to queue up, that's not ok.

^ This. OP is basically saying his time is worth more than 9 other people's which is not ok.

Play normals then. Ranked is for people who decided that for this game, they'll play it fully. If it is true emergency, sure, life takes priority. But if you start ranked game knowing you can not finish the game if it lasts an hour? I hope you get put into low prioirty queue forever or banned. :P

^mabey not with the harshness of ban.... But yeah.

Now to the OP.

Do not hop into a ranked if you do not plan on finishing it if it "drags on too long". It may be a game but you ruin the game by leaving before the game is done and causing a MUCH greater chance of a loss.

Some modes that do not normally take as long

  1. ARAM.
  2. Bots.
  3. Featured game mode.
  4. Twisted Treeline.

Pick one of those perhaps. The summoners rift explicitly says the games normally take between 45-60 minutes? normally so you have absolutely no excuse and should just take the punishment if you leave the game.

If i have class and im in a game.... I keep an eye on the time and do not do ranked.... And i have to leave early, that is MY fault for getting into a game so I will take the punishment and not try to pass it off just because i can not take responsability for my own action, no matter how mediocre you find the action being.

Agreed If something urgent comes up, like a fire, leave your PC and get out of the house.

Disagreed. If you leave a ranked game because you have to go to work/school and you queued up for Ranked regardless then you deserve a permanent 30 minute leaverbuster.

people like you are whats wrong with the league community

Why is that an okay mentality? If you were on a baseball team, and it was the bottom of the ninth and you were at bat...it would be a terrible idea for you to just up and leave your team stranded. Just a game doesn't mean people dont take it seriously.

yes there is. you know you would probably have to leave, no excuse.

if you do this regularly i hope your punishment is harsh

Try to choose a time you have free. If emergency yes leave fuck it, but don't be dumb and play ranked when you have to be someplace in 30 minutes. the draft alone can take 15 if there is a dodge or two.

Sure it's not wrong leaving ranked if RL calls.

But it's wrong STARTING ranked if RL is about to call! (Like exactly the scenario you described)

people don't have their priorities straight and forget this is a video game
