Do you feel Ahri's W fit in with her theme/playstyle?

I just feel like the skill itself is wierd on her. It doesn't help well with kiting as well as her other skills, the range is somewhat medium (and If you're kiting Udyr for example, you dont even want him at range considering he'll catch you by that point. Especially against assassins) It also isn't a skillshot (not that that realy matters) though everything else in her kit is as well. I realistically use it s an add in for when i land the charm/waveclear...? Maybe it's just me, I just feel like the skill itself isn't all that interesting and doesnt help her that much. I wa thinking maybe a replacement could be her launching a fox spirit in a targeted direction briefly slowing targets hit, with 1 - 3 charges?

Yeah.

She's 50% assassin, 50% mage, in the good way where all of her skills tend to function half-and-half between both rolls.

Mages predominantly rely on range to survive, assassins mobility. As such: Ahri has ok range and ok mobility, with the med/low range on her W and R damage forcing a cool risk/reward dynamic where Ahri gets to play like an assassin with some range.

Her W's mechanics are also downright cool, the orbiting will-o-wisps add a pretty unique mechanic to Ahri's kit that generally feels cool to use, even if it's damage is fairly low and it's difficult to use optimally.
