My Data On Key Fragment Drop Rates
######Whew, this post was hard to format. I did it though! Since Key Fragments are not going to be connected to wins anymore (see link!), I thought it would be a good time to publish my data since it will be much more difficult to track with the new system.
What I have been doing since February 6 is recording my Key Fragment drops. Whenever I get a win, I note whether I got a Key Fragment and how many people I was playing with, since the number of people influences the drop rate slightly. Here's what I've found. For the sake of post length I am only going to post one cycle in its entirety, just to prove that my data is legit. (Mods please don't delete this post for naming and shaming, these are matches are only normals so most people won't see the names in the matches anyways.) ##Cycle 1: Feb. 6 - Mar. 7
To summarize what happened, I got four Key Fragments in a row, one from five wins, one from four wins, another, another, one from four wins, one from four wins, and I got in two more wins but no Key Fragments before my cycle ended. That's 10 Key Fragments from 25 wins, which is pretty lucky, as you'll see from my later data.
In my second cycle, I got a Key Fragment, one from two wins, another, one from two wins, one from three wins, one from two wins, and I got in three more wins before my cycle ended. That's 6 Key Fragments from 14 wins.
In my third cycle, I got one from four wins, four more Key Fragments in a row, one from eight wins, two in a row, one from six wins, one from ten wins, one from five wins, and I had six wins with no Key Fragments. That's 11 Key Fragments from 45 wins.
In my fourth cycle, I got one from my first win, one from two wins, another, one from three wins, one from four wins, one from two wins, another, one from fifteen wins, one from four wins, one from seventeen wins, and I have five more wins with no Key Fragments. That's 10 Key Fragments from 55 wins.
In my fifth cycle, I got two Key Fragments in a row, one from three wins, one from four wins, one from three wins, one from four wins, one from ten wins, one from six wins, one from seven wins, then two more in a row (huge luck), then I got thirteen more wins before Honor 2.0 was released and the Key Fragment drop rates changed. That's 11 Key Fragments from 54 wins.
So I haven't gotten twelve Key Fragments per cycle yet, and I'm playing a decent amount, though not as much as the average League player I think. I haven't gotten nearly enough data to find out the "pity drop thresholds" for each Key Fragment, but I'll list out my maximum amount of wins for each Key Fragment anyways. Maybe I'm close.
| Fragment # | Max Wins |
|---|---|
| 1 | 4 |
| 2 | 2 |
| 3 | 1 |
| 4 | 3 |
| 5 | 5 |
| 6 | 8 |
| 7 | 3 |
| 8 | 15 |
| 9 | 7 |
| 10 | 17 |
| 11 | 5 |
| 12 | 13 |
Since each Fragment has to have an equal or higher threshold than the last, we can assume that Fragments #2-4 have at least a four win threshold, and that Fragment 7 is at least eight. Fragment number 9 must be at least 15, and Fragments #11 and 12 must be at least 17.
What do you think about these data? Are you happy that Key Fragments are only linked to Honor now, not wins? Discuss!
