Why is Riot INSISTENT on making sure that no mission involves Twisted Treeline?
I don't get why so many of the missions they do seem to purposefully exclude Twisted Treeline. No mission has acknowledged Twisted Treeline's existence. Many missions have excluded it arbitrarily. VS. had some SR missions and a HA mission, but no TT mission. Snowdown had a SR/ARURF mission, a HA/LOTPK mission, a SR mission, and 2 HA missions, but no TT mission; in other words, there was a mission for literally every available mode except TT and customs. Many other mission sets had SR-only missions, but no TT-only missions. Season 2018's Prepare for the Journey missions were acceptable, but this first mission of The Journey Begins is what inspired me to make this post.
- The Journey Begins (1 of 2): Play a game of Ranked Solo/Duo OR Play a game of Ranked Flex on Summoner's Rift
Why does this mission have this arbitrary "on Summoner's Rift" crap tacked on? Why can't it just be "Play a game of Ranked Flex"? Is there something so wrong with Twisted Treeline that it shouldn't count towards a mission about playing ranked modes?
I feel like Riot is purposefully ignoring the mode in missions so that the playerbase dwindles so that they can just kill it, because it's less enjoyable to play a mode that one can't complete many missions on (and that one can't get Mastery Tokens on).
Riot could easily not add an arbitrary "on Summoner's Rift" restriction to missions so that they could be completed on Twisted Treeline or Howling Abyss.
They could stop with doing warding missions and instead let players use their trinkets in general so that firstly using
counts towards the mission and secondly so that Twisted Treeline and Howling Abyss players have a way of completing the mission by using
and
.
For the epic jungle monster missions, like "Kill 2 Barons," they could do something like "Kill 2 Barons/Vilemaws." Heck, they could do something like that for all "Kill [epic monster]" missions, like "Kill 8 Dragons/Vilemaws." Even though it's way easier to kill Dragon than Vilemaw, it still would give Twisted Treeline players some way of working towards completing the mission. Also, I know for a fact that Riot can make two different epic monsters contribute to the same quest because of this mission from Worlds: "Have your team kill 2 Infernal or Ocean Drakes, have your team kill 2 Cloud or Mountain Drakes". It's not a matter of technology, it's a matter of Riot choosing not to include Vilemaw in these "kill [epic monster]" missions. As Minarde pointed out in the comments, another way to do this would be something like "Kill X [epic SR monster]s OR kill Y Vilemaws" in the style of the Snowdown missions. Even for that mission involving killing 10 Rift Scuttlers from PROJECT: Hunters, they could do something involving capturing altars on Twisted Treeline.
These are some relatively easy solutions that Riot could have implemented to make their missions more Twisted-Treeline-inclusive, but they didn't, and I'm mad!
