What do you expect someone getting flamed to do?

Good afternoon ladies and gents.

Today I was thinking back to how I would react to flamers in the past, when I was in Bronze. I fell into the category of players that rushed into ranked too fast and Riot politely escorted me to Bronze 5 to pay for my sins. At the time, I was pretty edgy and had a really shitty attitude.

Whenever someone would flame me for anything really, my response was "This person doesn't deserve to win if they are going to act like this". From there I would ensure we lost the game without making it obvious. The flamer would get reported and I'd continue going on this path. Obviously I've changed my outlook at made it to gold elo. But that has me thinking, from a flamers perspective, what do you expect to happen when you flame someone?

When you call someone trash, or say they should kill themselves, do you expect that person to say "nah you're right, I'm garbage, I'll work harder to do better and make sure to end my life after the game, thanks for the motivation!".

I see no good that comes from flaming, so why exactly do people insist on doing it?

Heres the thing, you tell them to, "Keep it up bot lane" And they will continue making mistakes. You tell them to, "Keep it up bot lane, but play a little safer because you guys died quite a bit" and they get tilted and will act like a child and throw a tantrum. You tell them to stop feeding and they int. You honestly have a higher chance in bronze to tell someone that "You are dogshit trash and need to off yourself" and win the game. It is different in Silver though so idk.

The only possible reaction to a toxic player in a game, that you want to win, is, to ignore him. That is literally the only option to make him calm down. An arguement involves 2 people, he cant argue with himself.

I agree, people that flame are the worst. If ADC or top is doing poorly and somebody flames them they may just int.

The moment someone start flaming or obviously giving up i insta mute them. Negativity in game doesn't get you anywhere. It's just extremely annoying to everyone involved.
