an opportunity for Jayce Reform

I want to use this opportunity to address the Riot Testing Staff in regards to potential changes to Jayce, now that we're seeing an update to his leveling system, I would like to propose or be answered on the above testing.

I have always seen jayce as an upfront light bruiser, heavy fighter, whom used his range to secure kills, not to create them, nor to offer long range poke that essentially defines who he is at this moment. Jayce has been described as a fighter first and foremost, a marksman second. that being said it astounds me that jayce is primarily played in the opposite respect, putting far more emphasis on his ranged then his melee.

Riot policy has generally followed the stipulation of high risk for high reward, and that a champion that is in a safer situation have less reward then the champion whom is in a riskier situation.

This leads us to look to jayce, whom embodies the opposite of these tactical ideations. Jayce is more powerful when he is safest, and weaker where he is in the most danger.

Range innately offers a degree of safety, and to that end I find that jayce having a base damage on his ranged shockblast as well as a greater AD ratio, while his risk form, hammer stance has greatly reduced base damages and a lower AD ratio. on top of this shockblast recieves a massive damage multiplier by making it interact with his gate, offering further safety and even more reward.

To this end I would propose this test, Switch the base damage and AD ratios of shockblast with that of to the skys. this would make jayce have to actually use his hammer for more than just finishing, as well as nerf the edge cases where shockblast and gate have been found to be overbearing.

If this has already been attempted and implemented, please tell me the results.

As always, an avid league player, and someone with a special place for Jayce, Sincerely, Forsvarare.
