Confirmed: The new champion's selling point is hyper mobility.
Again.

I thought his main selling point was hilarious team trolling.
Even worse than Blitz pulling a Kat into his team or an Alistar headbutting a fed Vayne towards another tank.
10/10 Riot, 10/10.
his e cancels kat ult
his mobility isn't that good and his enemies can use it... I wouldn't call it hyper mobility.

Though your team has positional advantage if enemy team uses the portal after you, but that depends.
And it guarantees a landed stun with Q if they follow you.
And it guarantees a landed stun with Q if they follow you.
That's true!
Portal enables your team for baron/dragon stealing and also escaping.
If they follow you, your team has the 1 step forward advantage/got the high ground (or 1 tempo, as said in table games), plus the stun.
I tought that was the joke : He is so hyper mobile he makes his team and his opponent dash throught walls! And he's made to be roaming between lanes for chimes.
We had selfish ms buff, they gave use teamwide ms buff. We had selfish dashes, we had 1-man teammate dashes (thresh, Kalista). They gave us teamwide dashes AND they went all the way to give it to teh enemy in 1 champ!
I guess you can also count his stasis as some anti-mobility. It's another new mecanic.

Exactly.
I disagree. His main selling point is his sweet beard.
agreed that beard
He isnt even that mobile... HE HAS TO ROAM sure, but the only mobility he has is the wall thing which enemies can use to meaning it actually is pretty useless "BARD THROW DOWN YOUR PORTAL" ok! (enemy jungler teleports through it too) WTF BARD YOU GOT ME KILLED "REPORT BARD FOR FEED"

It isn't useless if used to initiate ganks... Considering it's a one way portal... If 2-3 people come through it on to the enemy team unexpectedly, enemy team is gonna have a bad time. How about during enemy team doing baron/dragon and the entire team is behind the pit wall, he uses the portal to let the entire team flood in at the last second to steal/kill everyone.
Well dang! I guess we should have WARDED around the Dargon/Baron Pit to avoid being surprised like that, right?! ;P
Well that's kinda the point. If it's warded, then stealing Baron/Dragon is much harder for everyone, because the other team knows where you are. If it's not warded, then you take advantage of the mistake and try and attempt a steal.
How is this different from what I said? I basically pointed out that even though Bard can provide a means of transportation into Baron/Dragon Pit for his entire team, it still shouldn't come as a surprise. You should always try to make sure the area is warded or the enemy team is otherwise preoccupied when taking an important objective. If you're aware that Bard and his entire team is sitting in the bush above red buff ready to jump in and attempt a steal, then it may not be the best decision to start Dragon unless you're in a position to fight them or force them off it.
yeah, realized I didn't read your first post all that well.....whoops!
speed boosts for everyone!
walls? no one needs those!
Just because someone roams doesn't mean they're fast when they do it.
Technically his only forms of mobility revolves around him roaming, and his E can be used against him.
Wow such stupidity.
Yes, his main point is hyper mobility.
By giving everyone on both teams a gapcloser.
Exactly his only point of true mobility also works for the enemy too.
Might I ask what does this change? It doesn't make it false to say he gives mobility, which is the joke.
Also, it's 1 way, so it will probably be a lot more useful for 1 of the team. Example : enemy is doing baron, you can create a portal to dive in (which is what you want) but the enemy has no use for your portal. Or suppose there's a fight in the river in the midlane brush. Your team can take the portal (on your side of the river) to join the fight while the enemy team (coming from their side of the river), has to move normaly. DUring the fight, the pasage can't be used at all for escape as it's one way. Long story short, good for going in and racing to an objective, not so much for escape.
Not really, his mobility is actually unique (never thought I'd hear myself say that about league...). His portal through terrain is indeed very unique (it has unlimited length, and effects allies differently than enemies), and his other mobility is also very different in that is is almost entirely out of combat oriented. Also, his main selling point isn't extreme mobility, it is roaming (VERY different idea) and that he is almost 100% utility based, with possibly the least damage of any champion in the game.
Not really, he has golden standard of support mobility-speed up and What he offers is strategic mobility, which is significantly different, from tactical mobility league is overstuffed with. Only champions with strategic mobility are Twisted Fate and Rek'sai, both of whose are standardly mobile for their role. The idea, that jungler lacks dash is weird and goes completely against history of the game, nonmobile junglers were strong outlier, but outlier and traded mobility for sticking power(which is reason Skarner rework failed
note: I do not count aggressive teleports- Panth, Noc, Shen as really strategically mobile)
I don't mean to start an argument here, but Skarner rework didn't fail. He sits comfortably around 49% win rate and I seldom get frustrated or feel he is weak when I play him.
What is currently on the server is not the original rework, to the best of my knowledge. He has been given Karma treatment after rework and his passive was reworked into its current form, because it did not work. I would consider them separate reworks, because they do change ways champion is played significantly.
Curiosity : how did they change the new passive?
And I guess it worked in the end, after an iteration or 2.
They put his original passive on the Q(cooldown reduction) and gave him his current stun, which is rather funny, because Riot's argument before the new passive, was that he does not need more sticking power, except his speed up and will be fine, then release this sticking passive rather quietly
Hehe I didn't even know they changed him actually. I tought he always had the stun passive on his skills and ms was his passive. At least they fixed their mistake once they saw it.
Oh, you were talking about the original rework (4.2). I thought you were just a talking about both his 4.2 changes and 4.10 changes collectively. Obviously his original rework was a failure since they removed his sticking power with the only compensation being a ranged slow (on his E) and a slightly stronger shield (W). They managed to fix him up in 4.10 (but the 4.11 nerf was a knee-jerk reaction to him getting played in LCS).
Except this time, he grants his allies (and enemies) mobility also. So it's difficult to call him out on it since it's so versatile. And it may even help non-mobile champs as he can give them an in/out!
link to the new champs kit?
On the League of Legends homepage....
can we stop having champions that heavily impact the terrain by increasing mobility? First RekSai, now this guy.
But hey, at least this time it's a support!
But this time, enemies can follow you!
Hey guys, were just taking Baron. You seem awfully lonely behind that wall. Why don't you join us?
Bard what are you doing?
Bard
STAHP
I believe it's one way.
