Top was basically at the point where if your champion doesn't build tiamat that they were unable to viably go top lane (with a rare exception, but it was mainly the case).
There doesn't need to be 30 compensation buffs for all the different champions that abused this item.
aatrox? urgot? sion? viktor? there are plenty of top laners that dont go tiamat and are VERY meta, just because jax and irelia are broken and riot keeps refusing to address them at their actual problems doesnt mean people like renekton, fiora, talon, tryndamere and EVERY TIAMAT RELIANT JGER need an indirect nerf, there are few abusers but thats not the items problem its the champions
But toplane wasnt the only ones who needed tiamat.
also use it and are now forced to complete FB + half of second clear just too afford it at a decent timing, let alone the fact that them finishing a hydra is innefficient as hell as it is.
Also according to op.gg i only see like 5 people who regularly build it. Theres others like

I really don’t know how you can call it abuse, but okay. Patching up a weak waveclear with that item seemed like a fair trade off for the moderate stats it provided.
Mages had it more rough when Lost Chapter went from 900 -> 1,300 gold (I’m aware it got more stats, but the point was to also hard nerf early mana regen = waveclear), I hardly doubt a 150g 125g is gonna matter.

I don't know about Tiamat being suddenly broken but I really don't think people understand how strong it is to have an item that give you a passive proc along with waveclear control.
Many people ask for revert about lost chapter, this or even IE and I truly don't get it when people talk about what is low interaction or too much damage and theses kind of items truly enhanced that. I remember when athene graal first appeared in lol... It wrapped so many things about mid lane.
I don't think tiamat was as bad but it truly was underpriced for it's effect.

Tiamat nerf was one of Riot's step forward but usually its followed up with 2 steps back so really need to pay attention to the next patch really.
